i'm getting into the cw game pretty late, but i've found it pretty hard to get info about it! i think that the existing page is great, but i also think there should be a much more in-depth description of how this process goes. doing this by myself and without any guidance from someone who had done it before was kind of... unnecessarily challenging.

i know that there are a couple of resources in the CW forum: this thread this thread

but the pricing guide in the first thread is super out of date (looks like it's from the olden days when a batch was 10 items, not 5 items)

a few suggestions i have:

  1. update these resources
  2. link these resources on the create a CW interface so that users know how to find these resources

here are some other questions that i had when i was going through the process of submission that got answered for me just by doing the process:

  1. do i have to pay for my own copy of the item?
  2. do i have to pay for the artist's copy of the item?
  3. what 'type of item' is this? -- this could use a much more detailed explanation than is available on the current forum list. i'll write some more about this later down in the post

general category feedback for items that aren't extremely cut-and-dry like "Wigs" or "Nail Polish," this is a really hard step to do without guidance. for example, i submitted a small set of horns under the "Small Accessory" category, thinking it was a "Small Accessory." however, this item was denied and bumped from the 1500csc category to the 2500csc category for "Unique Limbs." while i understand why the item is supposed to be under this category instead, this information isn't accessible to me anywhere on the site, really. it creates a bad user experience for me and for the 5 people i put in the first batch of items. there's also no scale for reference between Small/Medium/Large accessories. the category called "All Base Edits" also isn't super to clear to me. is this referring to just items like ? or or ? what's the difference between "Small physical features" vs. "Makeup"? which category do freckles fall under? what about blush? i understand the need for the category to exist and the need to categorize items, but there's also a huge need for some exposition on what category what sorts of items fall into, and the "guide" that exists now in the forum just isn't very robust.

i know that i'm really late to the game and that most of the current CW economy have been people submitting for quite some time, but the lack of information about this stuff makes a pretty high barrier to entry for new CW people.

drew this ^ check out my cw shop!

The pricing on the FAQ thread is outdated, but the guide itself for item types seems pretty good to me? It doesn't necessarily have an example for everything, but horns, for instance, are definitely listed in the "All base edits" section. And since "Unique limbs" right above that lists mermaid tails, robotic arms, and deer legs, that seems to cover both the + Freckles are listed as a small physical feature. I would personally assume blush falls under makeup, but I agree that it wouldn't hurt to mention that or add an example of a blush item just in case. I would also assume a full-body blush would count as a base edit, but again, it wouldn't hurt to include it as an example. I don't think it's really plausible to expect a concrete example for any type of item someone might come up with (but again, not against more being added as they come up)

As for paying for your own/the artist's copies of an item, I don't think that's something that can really be addressed in that specific wording, because the answer isn't concrete. But I also don't see anything that really discusses the slotting process and how the pricing works for taking slots outside of maybe on the page for filling in the slots? It's been a while since I've taken slots for anything so I don't know if it's addressed on that page at all, but maybe an explanation about that could be added on the FAQ thread or the main CWs page to explain it a little better
