On a quest from Major Drills and I need to get a pet to play with an item but all my pets are 10/10 happy and it's not registering as them having played with the item when I try. Got about 45 minutes left on this quest right now.

Do they have minions? If so remove it from one pet. It'll take time so you'll likely miss this quest. After this keep that one pet without a minion so you can do drills quest when he asks for this task.

also, staying in a the resort or inn will also keep your pets too amused to lose any Happiness.

Losing happiness takes a good while, so quit that quest, you won't be able to do it in time.

I just had another look and am kicking myself a bit for somehow managing to miss that that minionless pet actually had 0/10 happiness. I feel like a derp.

I wondered why Drills never accepted it when I played with a pet! Thought it was a glitch. Now it makes sense.

When pets say a toy is boring, it means that they're as happy as they can get.

Pets automatically read/eat/playwith whatever you give them here on Subeta. In all cases if the item is accepted at all the item in question gets adsorbed into their brains and is gone/eaten and is gone/scribbled on and or ripped to pieces and or thrown throughout your home so that all the parts are never findable ever again (and is gone). If you still have the item, it didn't get acted upon gamewise, it's the weird item Infinity Berry, or there's a glitch.

(Pets on Subeta do not 'play nice' with their toys. Goddessess know whatever NPC Cinthia is doing with the toys she asks for)

If you use a new copy of a food or toy, the pet will eat/play with a copy of that kind again (if it's hungry or bored, of course). Books are for magic, so they can only be read once.
