I remember back in 2009, when users were around 200-300 users the rates of restocking were increased a bit. I think this might be necessary again this time because I'm seeing some shops that normally stock within every 5-10 minutes take on average 20-40 minutes. I don't know about everyone here, but this is something I'd like to see again, seeing how I love restocking here and miss that.
Also, what happened to the shops clearing every hours, I think shops are getting too cluttered with a daily reset and it makes it impossible to see items in the shops that are good ones from the others. Just a though on that one, maybe bring back hourly resets as well.

There was a large overhaul in how shops restocked some years ago, and this was a solution that seemed to fit best for the economy. Shops clear at 2 am Subeta time now.
I haven't found a problem with restocking at all, and values seem fairly stable and not too low or too high (except for a few days when we had a bunch of stuff hit the economy from the Forum Boxes) although maybe that depends on what you're trying to restock and expectations for what store behavior should look like.
I know I don't have difficulty making a profit these days, especially since folks are questing more in the hopes of Morty Cards.
While this isn't the suggestions forum, I don't think we need a complete overhaul back to the way things were when there doesn't really seem to be an economic reason for it? Or am I misreading your post?
@ Lirikai Now I'm not talking about the prices of items, although I do believe some things should be tweaked like super rare prices but I'm more referring to the rate and which items restock at, like it shouldn't take one shop 40 to 50 minutes at night to restock. Which normally is dictated on how many users are on the site.
A user shouldn't be punished because they don't live in the optimal timezone where there is 600-700 users on at a time. Back in 2009, there was a same situation where this system was used in the past and it was taking the same time for shops to restock.
Sometimes, it would take an hour for one shop to restock a items and to be quite frank that was a bit unreasonable at that time, so the system was tweaked to compensate for that. Like some shops were taking upwards to an hour or so to restock.
I think something similar should be done again to elevate those shop time restock rate,s for when theres few users on at any given time

Gotcha. Yeah, I tend to be on the site during more regular hours, so our restock experiences likely do differ somewhat. Quality of user experience is important.
In many ways, though, the economy is very dependent on the rate of store restocks. An overhaul of the extent and type you describe would absolutely have an economic impact, which is why I mentioned it.
I remember it took multiple iterations and multiple months and lots and lots of user feedback threads before the site found an optimal economy/store restock balance that didn't completely deflate the economy.
That said, I'm definitely not an authority on what might happen. It would be a really massive change, for sure, and I think the economic discussion is part and parcel of it.
please!!! i used to make a lot of sp from restocking and i moved from subeta's time zone to one that i end up being online with 300-500 people online. i miss restocking my good stuff.
RSing right now is a joke, depends on who has the fastest net. My net's a joke therefore... I don't even bother.

No to clearing every few hours. This just tells people when to camp the shop so they grab all the good items before anyone else, like what happens on Neopets.
I'd like a more frequent restocking though. Now that'd help users with slower internet to get a chance at the good items.
I think that restocking at a rate commensurate with how many users there are is the best solution, and it's the solution that Subeta is using now. It's an artifact of the extra easy quest system, because if it's not done in conjunction with it then prices collapse.
I don't agree with the rarity-based price supports we have right now, or rarity based changes at all really. Just because the means-of-production says that something is "rare" doesn't mean users must must must want it and must must must be able to restock it all the time always and must must must be forced to buy it at a high site-supported price.
Subeta made the decision years ago to focus on their Unitedstatian users. If you are doing quests right after the two am reset, you make about a quarter-million less than you would if you squeezed them all in the hour before midnight. This is the price difference between being able to restock the quest-grantor-sought quest item from official shops that have reached maximum fullness versus buying it from other users.
I don't think the bias is a strong as the OP thinks it is for RSing though. I am insomniac and have done RSing on Subeta during European hours and half-asleep with a throbbing migraine I have gotten some really good stuff. Yes, there's less stuff restocked and the shops are still filling up from the two am reset, but I find the rewards are higher and it's easier to spot the highest value restocks. IME the competition is either not paying attention or is slower or there's less of you even trying. Getting the same items during the hours when most users are around is harder.
I gotta say I pretty much only ever occasionally restock in seasonal shops like Freyalise and Migrating Masks and the lazy morning European hours (2-4 am subeta time) is actually the only time i'm ever able to snag anything? Like, you can tell there is only two other people in the shop and it gets a lot more forgiving for someone who isn't a pro.
