Lately I've really been digging the free concerts my local radio station is doing. The last one featured The Glorious Sons and some local bands. And today was a mineral and gemstone show.

I like the concerts because its interesting to hear local bands. I do enjoy the headliners of course. The concert before was Adelitas Way for FREE!!! I'm always excited to go to these even with my anxiety.

And the mineral show today was pretty fun! I got to crack open two geodes and one had perfect calcite crystals in it. Another stone I got had a gas bubble trapped in it. Got a grab bag with a mixture of items and got my first piece of raw peridot.

Any events you have been to recently or looking forward to? Ones you like to go to often?

We go to Hockey events. Once in a while concerts (Pink is coming up in May). Then this summer we are going to Piktown Paloza where Lance Bass will be (childhood crush). We just see flyers or fb interest invites and spur of the moment go.

I've been to a couple Pagan Pride Days (planning to go again this year), and am going to my first Con next week, but other than that I really don't go to too much other than small stuff like movies....did go to the grand reopening of my store I work at (mostly to get free food)

Huh interesting. I see some local events come by on my feed but usually they aren't things of interest to me... Like raves or runs lol but every so often I see things and if someone can go with me I try to make it.

I don't think we host anything like that here. Heck even finding witchy basics here is hard. Which is why I went to this gem and mineral show to nab things I didn't have. I got my first morganite, tiny piece but still works. And heck yeah free food! Also I've never made it to a con, mostly can't afford the tickets. That or going to sakura con also would require renting a space to sleep and asking for time from work.

They were so fun! If you get a chance to pop one properly (not with a hammer) I suggest doing it. I learned you want very tones on the outside for colors and good crystals inside. The beige ones tend to have those powder fine types.

I love going to concerts though I've only gone to a couple so far. c: Mostly rock, alternative rock or punk music!

I also love going to Renaissance festivals. c: Dressing up is the best part though all of the stands and such where they sell hand-crafted things is pretty great too.

I like going to expos/cons. I've cosplayed a few times with friends and it's a lot of fun! We don't tend to go every year as things can get a bit stale, but they're usually pretty fun when we do go.

I've also been to a couple of food festivals, which is good fun (got to try all sorts of different alcohol haha!)

Mine likes to show me events for Beer and Wine which I haven't even RSVPed for those before. Just hockey watch parties or Celebrity bartending events at bars/restaurants. Ha It used to be runs as my husband was a runner but they've died down.

There is a theater I want to go to but the event tickets cost a bit much. I keep hoping my husband will surprise me one Christmas with nutcracker tickets.

Then theres a. Mac N Cheese fest but it's always on an inconvenient day

Rock is my preferred music choice too <3 if you haven't heard of the bands I listed go give em a shot :) I think I've only been to a ren faire once in high school. So no dessing up or anything. However did get to par take of their story telling! Tale of Snow White and the Glass Zombies lol

I still want to go to a con someday. Even if just to cross off my list of things to experience. We have an annual food fair here and I've gone twice... The crowds are just too big for me most times.

You have me at mac n cheese festival! That sounds like something I'd request time off for! I have to usually for concerts so I make sure I really want to go before making that request.

Haha at beer ones. We have so many micro brewers here you can go at any time and most will give samples.

We are short staffed so it's been denied or someone else had it in before me. This last year it fell at the same day and time of opening night. I was sad. I wanted to go find all the pulled bbq pork and Mac. Ever since Hockeytown cafe I have had the craving for that. Now I mix the two together when I can.

I wish I could just try beers that my husbands friend tries. Over 1000 tried. Some sound amazing. Banana nut bread, chocolate, German chocolate cake, birthday cake - like what!? They sound amaaaaazing.

That's rough! This is my first job where I don't feel pressure about asking for time away. As long as its in advance by a few weeks I usually get it. And also that I have pto or its a normal day off. If its a day off it just reinforces to not call me to cover anything that day.

I just want to try and get out a bit more and try some stuff in or near town.

My city has a free music festival every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer. I like to go to them whenever I feel up to it and I've seen some really great (and some big name!) bands there. This past summer one of my favourite sort of indie artist was there and I got his autograph. :D

I also like to go on a studio tour in the fall in the small town where my grandparents live. It's so beautiful there and there are a ton of great artists.
