I popped into the random dance threads a couple of times and it doesn't show me the usernames? I saw a HA and wanted to go to their profile to see if they listed what the HA was wearing but there wasn't anywhere I could find to do that.
What am I missing here?
It's a masquerade, so you're not supposed to know who you're asking to dance. Once you complete said dance it will reveal who your partner is.
It's just part of the event! It is a masquerade, after all! ;)
The Masquerade forums don't show usernames because the point of the event is that it's a masquerade ball and everyone's wearing masks/disguises so you don't know who they are. It can get a bit annoying, but that's one of the gimmicks of the event. If you invite the person to dance and they accept though, it will have their username in the sidebar event that you get.
Those are the only forums that don't show usernames though, so you should still be able to see them everywhere else.
You could also drag their HA into a new tab and plug their ID from that into this sCode in your notepad widget or something to get their username:
[userid=]
If you want to see who the user is, click the megaphone icon on their comment to ping them. Then scroll down to where you'd type a comment. It should show their username. Copy their username (without the @ symbol), and paste it in the "search subeta" box. Then you'll be able to find the user.
Another way of doing it is to click on their leashed pet (if they've got one), and its profile probably has a link to its owner.

I think that the romance of tracking down that one lovely person in the Masquerade is being spoiled a little here. Another solution is to keep dancing, you might see them again and this time you will get the opportunity to ask them to dance or they will ask you and their identity will be revealed the old-fashioned way.
