I just blocked a user for the first time ever. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that blocking them would mean I would lose access to any threads they created. (It makes sense, but for some reason I thought the thread would still be there with just their posts gone.)

I'd like to finish reading this thread because there were some constructive comments from other users, but when I hit the "unblock" option it just keeps saying "Wait a while!"

Is there a period of time I have to wait before I can unblock someone if I just blocked them? How long does that period last?

the wait time is 24 hours

edit to add: unless it's changed. but I asked the same question some years ago in a ticket and that's the answer I got then.
