Hello all! I'm completely stumped for what to do for my pet Ink and Paint. [Pet=ink and paint] They're based off the golden days of traditional animation (Disney in particular)-- when everything was hand drawn, painted cels were the only way of colorizing shots, and everything took an immense labour of love to get even one short done, much less a movie.
Just a note-- I'm not saying digital and CGI is inferior or takes less work or love, all I'm saying is there were no undo or copy buttons and Xerox for films was not implemented until 60 years after the invention of animation. I'm an artist and it drives me crazy when people say they don't consider traditional animation that was done on a tablet and computer hand-drawn because it was done digitally. I just feel like the pencil to paper nature makes it more inspiring, especially on the scenes where you can see construction lines still. Carrying on.
The blob is the obvious choice, but I'm not feeling it. It seems a bit too boring to me. Another idea I had was to give a pet a rubber hose style overlay, but that still leaves like 40+ pets that could be used. I was considering a feminine pet to represent the ladies of the ink and paint department, but I havent decided if I want it to be a tribute to just their department or to traditional animation in general.
Pls help. Also TC suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advance!
How about the spectrum warador? It's holding a paintbrush:

I've been into bendy and the ink machine recently so I'd have to say grab the old disney style. Maybe black and white or sepia for example? I think a lot of species could work so many decide on an overall species or look you want? Like dog/cat/mouse/etc? I think a Chibi/Scribble could look really cool!

I'm not a big fan of waradors but I second the nominee of the spectrum warador (blacklight would work too!) Maybe you could get an overlay to even make him look a little more like Mickey Mouse, if you wanted. :)
Thanks everyone! I'm not really fond of waradors either but I think that the spectrum/blacklight looks pretty cool! I didnt even know that was a paintbrush so I'll add that one to consideration.
I also forgot about scribble, I'll take a peek at those!
And yeah haha, I took this name on a whim because of Bendy, though I've been a huge fan of traditional animation since I was little and that's mostly where it came from.
If anyone else has suggestions I'm all ears!
Hmm I liked these for their cheerful and animated poses, and bright colors. I also like the hearts on some sweetheart pets, it has a kinda 2D art vibe that might be nice? This is really hard, so many spectrum and blacklight pets would be great.
