The Case of the Locked Room Leprechaun

"Francine! Francine! Francine!" Nutsy shouts as he runs into his office waving a special announcement from the Amateur Sleuth Gazette.

"Okay, you've properly mastered my name," Francine sighs, looking away from the spreadsheet which is giving her a headache, "what's up?"

"100K, that's what!" Nutsy smooths out the bulletin in front of her. "Wouldn't that pay everything?"

"And then some," Francine agrees. "We'd be in the black for at least a year!"

"Especially since I give you this place rent-free," Squirrely McGee says as he walks through the door.

"It's family," Nutsy shoots back. "I'm your first cousin!"

"You and thirty-six others," mumbles Squirrely, "but no matter. I'm not complaining since you're going to solve the case. Seamus O'Malley is a friend of mine, a long time one. We met over a pot of gold and a poker game--details not necessary. He's been arrested for this and there's no way he'd ever do it. He's got a temper like all leprechauns, but he'd never beat anybody the way MacPherson was beaten. Not his style, plus, he's usually drunk after midnight. So get yourself on that gumshoe website , Nutsy, and sign up as solvers!"

"And summon the Protectors," Francine adds, reading over the case details with a growing look of concern. "It does look impossible, and we need them!"

It occurred to me that it might be fun to have Farrat get into trouble this time, or Paz. But there's gotta be a thylacine. (Paz's thylacine is named Cinnamon.)

Paz left Earth in 2012, so she would be less confuzzled.
