Ive been busy irl lately so, while I paid to be infected with crackhead around the 3rd or 4th of march, I never got a chance to ask around on the forums for bites. Should I not have been infected anyways just slower? Or was getting bites a madatory step that I just blanked on? Or. Does the naturual infection take longer than survival would have beennaround and I just SOL'd myself?
--[Dance=ona660]--[TOT=Ona660] I can bite for: Baker's Kiss(proudly), Bright Bite, Bubble Jelly, Butterfly Bruise, Carchari, Catterkiller, Dolly Dreadful, Fevermore(!), Freckle Fever, Lobster Face, Lovebug, and Pinkie patch.
Natural infections take awhile, but not this long. Bites are not required. Have you visited the Healer to see if she says you're infected? Have you visited the VIP page to see if it still offers to infect you or gives you an option to wipe it out if it's in early stages? If it still offers to infect you, then you didn't get it to start with. If it gives you the option to opt out for a fee you are infected but it isn't showing on your HA for some reason.
I had the same issue. Opted for a natural infection on the 3rd, but nothing happened by the 7th, so I canceled and went for the hustler instead which did work. Before cancelling, I checked the Healer and the VIP pages several times. The Healer didn't show anything for the infection and the VIP page said I still had to wait to be matched to an infection specialist. On the 8th, way after I went with the Hustler to get infected immediately, I got an event saying I was matched to an infection specialist. Not sure whether that event is supposed to happen when you go through the Hustler.
There were a couple of glitches with infections this year, as you can read by this news post and this one. It's the reason why Survival was extended so long.
I had something weird happen where I got the notice that I was infected, but then when I went to the VIP page it asked me to sign up again. I'm not sure which of the glitches affected me, but it seems pretty clear now that my first virus was cleared.
That may be what happened to you, unfortunately.
I know for the original glitches they were offering to infect you via Ticket in Help, so maybe you could make one and get infected that way, since the two posters above show that the glitch wasn't resolved after all?
Staff has confirmed that ">if you signed up for a strain, you'll get it. All biting does is get you to stage one, but it's not required for infection. I would say give a day to two more, then maybe a make a ticket about it since it can take a while on your own.
