Hi guys, I'm just looking to collect the pieces to the original treasure map. I do have two of them, but I'm not sure if I should be looking to trade or if there is a specific area I'm more likely to receive them as random events. I figured I could not shop search them because of the rarity. Any help with this would be super appreciated! Thanks.

You can shop search any item :) You can get the REs on any page, but personally, I don't see them very often and I'm impatient so I'd just buy from user shops :')

There's no rhyme or reason to getting these pieces by RE. Random Events are Random. The pieces are all the same rarity number If one kind of them is more or less likely all the same, I was not able to tell even though I've completed a hundred of them.

IME it takes around three months of playing to get nine Treasure Map pieces. Not necessarily all-different pieces.

The rewards for completing them are paltry compared to the cost of buying them or the lost opportunity cost of selling the pieces to other users. Unless you are going for Achievement, just give it a year and stash every piece you get in your Vault until then.

If you are going for Achievment, then buy buy buy.
