T_T Can I complain about that? I'm doing a great job at his quest but he is always SO RUDE. I know he is an NPC but I get a bad feeling reading " Kid, you're one braincell short of being a flip-flop, and just about as useful as a football bat!" 20 times a day...

He is a hole. He says it to everyone, no matter how well they're doing. But a part of your brain thinks he's a real person and that it's directed at you. We're pack animals. When we feel socially rejected, we think we're about to be kicked out of the pack and starve in the savannah. So when this NPC says you're useless, and keeps saying it no matter how well you do, these parts of your brain feel almost physically threatened. It makes sense that you feel bad.

• When I first joined, it made me feel really bad too. After a while, I started being able to tune it out and these days I barely notice, so try giving it time.

• Think about what he's asking you to do: play with your pets, send stuff to people (which often prompts conversation and friend-making), playing games, and feeding your worries to a goat in an attempt to get rid of them? Maybe he does care on some level, but he's terrible at showing it. (not that it excuses any of the shit he says)

• If you do enough of his quests, you'll unlock him as a battle challenger. Then you'll be able to repeatedly kick the daylights out of him while yelling "this is for all the times you called me useless, you prick!". It's something to look forward to.

• He says the prizes are rubbish, but they often sell for a lot of sp, (I'm talking 70k to 3 million here), so it's like you're ripping him off 'cause he doesn't know how much they're worth.

• If you're finding a quest too difficult or you just don't want to do it, click "give up". There's no negative consequences, and he won't even give any extra lines of nasty.

• Pretend he's got a really, really silly voice. Sounds cheesy, but it could work.

• Do his quests first, and then go do quests for some of the nicer NPCs, like Sarah, Nori, Cinthia or Quentin. They'll congratulate you and tell you how grateful they are that you brought them stuff. It's a nice change of mood.

• There are word replacement tools you can get as browser extensions. You can use it to change his lines into "my favourite number is potato" or whatever you want.

• Or just don't do his quests at all. He does give some pretty sweet rewards, but it's not compulsory, and they're definitely not worth it if it ruins your day.

I'm gonna keep doing his quests for the rewards and think about the tasks in a positive way as you said... And I'm looking foward to kick his butt in the arena once I get my pets to be strong enough... >:P
