While voting on the strain names I was reminded of that Age Poll that they held years ago. I couldn't even remember how old I was when they asked that so I took a peek, and I had voted for the 16-18 age range. I'm now 29!!! O_O I would be SO curious to see what that poll would look like now. I wonder if the majority of people here are older now that it's been so long, or if we have picked up a significant number of new members as we went along.
Who else is curious???? Who else voted in that poll? XD I only feel a wee bit old. <3
[edit]
Further proof that Subeta and those who keep it's wheels turning are awesome! Much love to you guys, I laughed when I saw this poll was up.
Haha, yeah... that was so long ago! I voted for 19-24 back then, if they were to re-open it now I'd be voting 30-34. Sheesh!
I voted in it. Good old times with me not being old.
I revisted that poll too, lol. I ticked "19-24" ... I'm 32 now. I'd love to see how the demographic has changed (if it has).
19-24. I'm turning 30 in August, lmao.

16-18 here
I just had my 28th birthday last week. I vaguely remember answering the poll right after I joined, and being disappointed I was just a few months from the 19-24 option lol
I'd love to see the current numbers though
How did you find this site? I remember that a friend had shown me the big yellow awful petsite, and when they started going downhill I just started searching for other, better ones online. I found subeta and neurogalaxy (R.I.P.) and I liked them the best because of the more mature crowd.
How about everyone else?? Did you look for this site, or did it find you?
I had started at the yellow site when I was 27 as a way to de-stress after work... (I was one of those awful telemarketers). I met a ton of great people, but lost a few comps to viruses and such that I was picking up, and the site was making huge changes that I hated to their guild system. My guild's leader found Subeta first and suggested we try it. Most of us moved in here.
Not even gonna lie; I was totally unimpressed. I was met with staff member rudeness almost immediately and mashed my refresh key more than anything because of lag and downtime. The few, brief times I did load content, nothing made sense and I had to rely heavy on the people that came here with me. Had it not been for them, my stubborn streak and sheer boredom (I was on disability by then), I probably wouldn't have stayed at all. lol
I voted 19-24 back then, I’m at 30-34 currently.
Also,
Can this be moved to GD since I believe it’s about Subeta?
Oohh yes I am curious as well!
Also voted in the 16-18 category at the time. It's weird to even imagine haha. It would be really cool to compare users' ages to then and now; did most users grow up w the site, or maybe does it naturally attract an older audience now? Or perhaps the people joining pet sites are still mostly very young people? I wanna know!
I found Subeta because I loved Neo so much and went on a huge binge making accounts on every petsite I possibly could. I kind of still make accounts everywhere whenever a new one pops up. Subeta is great but I love the idea of petsites in general, it isn't the only one I frequent even now. :'D
Yeah, I thought about it, but I decided to let it stay because it was more people talking about how old they were when they found the site and how their personal lives have grown/changed since then. It could go either way, but I think it's fine where it is.

- TBH I stayed with any petsites that let me satisfy my hoarding/collection tendencies. XD It helps to collect little digital items, so that I can be a little more minimalistic in real life. I actually loved NeuroG for that, because I started when they were very very new so I had a pretty amazing gallery, haha. I did try so many petsites though, this one was the only one that was over-all pretty awesome.
- huh. I don't really recall that many loading issues. There were a few growing pains moments when they switched to new servers or services, but I think that was more recent. I remember thinking they didn't have any great games when I first started (they had no flash-style games at that point) but I was mostly interested in the Avatar system and the item collecting when I joined.
