User paid ads and gold accounts - Answered!

So for the past couple of days I've been seeing kiss links and today big huge ad banners (user paid) at the top of the forums and posts. I thought it was some rando "kiss this person" new site functionality until I saw actual big banner kiss ads appear.
It's been years since I've seen one since I've had a gold account for the exact reason that it blocks ads. I still have a gold account, nothing's changed from last week to this week on my end.
Does anyone know if this is a possible glitch, or if user-paid ads are supposed to be seen even with gold accounts? Is any other gold account also seeing this when they haven't before?

Can confirm - GA user, I also occasionally see the kiss billboard ads, but only on the forums.
Regular members will see ads for other companies and sites. The billboard item allows you to advertise to all members in the forum for your own pages and sites. Currently we allow the following: Subeta pages, fansites, deviantart pages, etsy shops and youtube channels. Many users choose to use billboards to earn site currency during their respective holidays. For example, you can post a billboard that links to your dance link for Masquerade and earn trinkets if they click on it. To see all the rules regarding this feature, visit the billboard page.
Looks like it's normal for user-bought billboard ads to show for GAs. GAs only remove google ads, afaik. My guess is that nobody really used billboards as much until the holiday, so people are taking advantage of the free ones from the bathhouse and getting some extra kisses in.
Ah, thanks. Yeah, I wasn't sure if user-paid ads were exempt from the non-ad thing. Guess it's a feature and not a bug.
Gah so annoying. I would pay more to make it go away, but oh well.
You can block them with CSS :) Go to 's super useful thread. Click the link to their site where they store the codes, the AdBlock is the first one. Copy and paste in your custom CSS and voila, no more kiss ads! :)
