EDIT final: It randomly disappeared after a wardrobe change LOL I don't know if I'm broken or the site is.

So I chose the free/random option because I missed several years of survival and figured any new zombie skin was good enough for me and you know what happened, I managed to get THE ONE VIRUS OUT OF ALL OF THEM I HAD ALREADY UNLOCKED.

I'd really like to get a virus I DON'T HAVE ALREADY so I'm just wondering if the cure will work in this early stage. Could I cure my disease now and try for another virus or do I have to let this thing run its course and then cure?

Edit: it was Blistered Hearts but I changed my HA and now I'm not seeing the three little dark hearts anymore. Wtf did I lose it without taking the cure? I'm so confused. I don't know how anything works for Survival anymore.

Edit 2: I go to the VIP and it seems like I'm not infected anymore ? I'm scared to sign up for another virus now, I don't know if it's a glitch.

You don't cure with an item, but there should be a button on the VIP page to remove your infection. If you're not seeing that, you should be good to get a new one. I'm not seeing any infection on your HA either, but the Healer can confirm it also :)

go sign up for free/random and then tell us here [topic not found] which strains you want / don't want and we'll infect you asap :)

Thanks, I'd forgotten the healer. It looks like going into the wardrobe and changing my base's face somehow removed my virus because before it had the three heart blisters that was stage 1 of a 2012 strain.

I'm going to try to get infected again this time not using the random option. Thank you again.

Random just means you can get any strain, so you can get bitten with any strain as well. So if you tell us which ones are okay, we'll bite you with those and you'll end up with one of them ^^ maybe for your second strain in a few days ;)
