This irks me : [item2=Heavily Garnished Salmon Steak]. Fresh salmon has very little odor. That 'fishy' smell means it's starting to spoil. Perhaps that's why it's 'heavily garnished'?

Subeta has some less than spectacularly delicious seeming foods. From a human point of view. But these foods are not eaten by humans, there's no game mechanism for this to happen. All food items get fed to pets.

Maybe any self-respecting Graveyard pet on Subeta absolutely loves salmon that's just going off.

If this was supposed to be fresh, raw salmon, I'd say you have a good point, but this item appears to be cooked salmon. And in my experience, the description is pretty accurate. "Pungent" is one word I'd use for cooked salmon. "Nauseating" is another. Honestly makes me feel ill.

Not everyone has the same sense of smell. Some people find some smells more repulsive than other people, even in tiny amounts.

Me, I find the number of periods in that item description more offensive than the fishy smell. :P

cooked salmon is extremely pungent imo... you've never had to air out the house after cooking salmon? shoved all the scraps into a sealed plastic bag and put that bag in another bag inside the trash bin?

I think we should save changing item descriptions for cases when the description might be morally or socially ignorant.

Reading this thread has made me incredibly hungry for some smoked salmon, though.

Yeah this description isn't in any way damaging to a group of real people. It's not even vaguely sexist, racist, homophobic or anything. When I saw what item it was I was like "oh no is it a vaginas smell like fish joke" which besides being wrong would be asshole ish to people with vaginas but it's not even that.

I think it's fine.
