Interpretation: This song sounds a little like chess. The "queen" is one of the most coveted objects in the game, so everyone wants her. But the queen, she knows that they only want her to use her and she can't stand it anymore.

" I know that you may love me, But I just can't be with you like this anymore"

But she also can't help but still "love" those that cause her this pain. So she distances herself and puts down limits. She wants to stop seeing, hearing, even touching these people.

"Don't wanna kiss, don't wanna touch, just smoke my cigarette and hush, Don't call my name"

And just like the cigarette that she holds, it's flame and smoke lingers, like her feelings.

so like, i don't have enough time to babble about this song as much as i want, but first and foremost i love that noise!!! also this is like the third design i cycled through, around my 18th listen of the song i realised i needed to go for a way more vulnerable look, from both the first paragraph and "she's just a baby / and her boyfriend's like her dad."

to me it's a song about someone disillusioned with the situation they've found themselves in, to the point where the pleasures/rewards they get from it can no longer make them happy and they're ready to bolt. she turns away her lovers, she doesn't want anything other than to sit and smoke and think, she may love people associated but she doesn't feel like she has anything to lose anymore, she has to chose her freedom. ("at this point i've got to choose / nothing to lose")

also given that she's young and being plied with lots of lovers, and the song mentions "past hurt", i get the feeling of exploitation, like in show business or something. also like all of lady gaga's songs it has an almost holy feeling about it that i can't quite explain. so i gave her a halo (also like in the lyrics i quoted) and put a brick wall behind her luscious settings; someone dressed it up but it's really a prison. i also have her wearing marionette strings and with straps around her ankles, because she's just a puppet/tied down.
