Hello there!

I am a complete newbie when it comes to battling in a sense. I know how to battle somewhat alright, but I am working on my first of many battle pets. I am in love with battling and would like to get much better.

My first battle pet Junpei is Tier 4 but painfully close to Tier 5, the second pet I'm working on is Tier 2 and his name is Kanorin. He's less of a priority and is mostly getting trained whenever I get his alert. I am looking for advice on battle sets, potions to keep on hand, scrolls and how I can better improve my success rate on Battle Quests. I am also looking for some suggestions on what I should do for a finalized build for him as far as stats are concerned. I was thinking Higher HP and Strength while still keeping effective amounts of Speed and Defense. I'm doing what I can for intellect but I'm on a budget right now. I can't afford much in the way of CSC either, as CSC is a rare treat for me.

My budget is mostly anything under 5 mill as every time I hit 5 mil it gets deposited in the bank until I reach around 100-250 million SP. My current set is as follows.

And my current Scroll is currently just I have 29 AP on Junpei currently and I am willing to work on scrolls slowly if I could have some suggestions for them.

would probably be the best single weapon you could buy right now. I made a scroll guide a couple pages down in this board for scrolls.

Hey sorry to ping you so late after all of this but i'm still encountering a lot of issues simply because I cannot beat any very hard opponents

I am having a lot of trouble with weapons and scrolls still as I do not have billions of SP to drop on things and most opponents that drop high value scrolls are either retired forever, retired seasonally, were released for plots I was not present for, or have retired achievements or CSC charges that keep me from gaining access to them

do you have any advice for a low budget battler who gradually wants to upgrade that you can reccomend?

What do you have for weapons and what tier are you now (did you hit T5 already)?

I think the single quickest upgrades you can make would be to keep training HP until you hit 1K maybe even 1.5K HP.

I'm not sure I would anticipate that with the best weapons that you would necessarily be able to beat the EX hard opponents with less than 500 HP.

Fatal Fire was a gift and I have not actually managed to beat the Effigy yet

Its more expensive but its much more durable through tier 6-7.

I bought the weapons in question except for the wand, but they dont show any icons for damage? So i'm very confused.

The blasters transform your opponents weapons into junk that they use instead of their good weapons.

Gunblade and the wand are multiuse healers.

I can't use both the freezewand and the gun blade because they are both healers any replacement suggestions? Or should I use something in my older set?

i have managed to work out some of the kinks and I have enough plot points to get that gun what are the benefits from it?

It has a chance to freeze, which I find helpful for battles. When your opponent is frozen, it’s like gaining a free turn to hit them with all you’ve got. I would say it’s a fair alternative to the Freezewand.

Then pair them together for extra freezing power :P

Replica Minotaur Knocker is a great "scaling" weapon that really does well in the Tier 4 through Tier 6 range. Even though it heals Tier 5 pets 5%, it doesn't have the Healer designation so you can use it with the other multi-use healers... But it is definitely outside of your price range. (Scaling weapons are often expensive because they maintain their usefulness over multiple tiers.)

The only cheap alternative I could find was the Massaquerade. It has 5% healing, just like the Replica Minotaur Knocker. It does not take up the Healer slot - I checked - but it does take up the Stealer slot so you can't use it with the Blackmoon Hand Blaster. (It has a very low chance of stealing...) It has been a really long time since I used it but I think one of the problems I had with it was that it only attacked with Physical icons and those were often blocked. The Replica Minotaur Knocker has a wider range of attack and it also has a little bit of defense.

Honestly, I feel like a solid attacker (such as Ol Blue or Forj Tempered Kusarigama... I like Ol Blue personally) with a good infinite use healing scroll would work better than the Massaquerade. Plus, I love the Blasters' ability to turn a weapon into "junk". It's definitely luck-based but they can make the battles so much easier.

I would also suggest modding your weapons - especially your multi-use ones - with Blessing of Natural Armor Tear Crystal and/or Parched Baguette Crystal. (Their blessings, when activated, block the opponent's ability to freeze you. Pretty sure the Natural Armor one also prevents stealing. [sub]If I am wrong about that, someone please correct me...[/sub])

Thats interesting, I don't think the HRG used to count as a healer. I guess the only way to get 2 healers now is to buy a Replika knocker or a trident, which you don't nescarilly need, but they help a lot.

Your second constant weapon probably doesn't matter that much then.

Ol blue or from the battle shop are probably some of the better budget friendly options.
