As per this thread is to write the things that should be Blocked but aren't actually Blocked by the Block feature. If there's a list of criteria for what that might be there's the Rules which go like this:
When you block a user, it will prevent them from: sMailing you Commenting on your profile Sending you items Sending gifts or presents Offering on Trades Viewing your profile/userlookup Viewing your forum posts Viewing your news comments Appearing in your Shoutbox feed
On the main Forums page, the Most Recently Posted will show a post by a Blocked user.
Also on the main Forums page, each subforum has the most recent thread that's been posted on (subject to lag and cache-delay) the last thread posted on will show a post by someone you have blocked. Sometimes, if the thread has been started by someone you have blocked and someone just posted on it, you can also see that Topic.
This was fixed once before was Staff here, but when you go into the subforum itself, you can see Topics started by someone you have blocked.
In the News, whenever there's a Pet Spotlight winner, comments about the pet win are not blocked and checking to see who actually owns that pet will result in encountering someone you have blocked. (cf post 4)
what i find most annoying is going to click on a topic to see i've blocked the owner. also being able to comment on their spotlight wins, which i've accidentally done once.
the first one, seeing the topic of someone you blocked, do you see this when you go into the actual subforum, or do you mean like what I wrote in the OP? Because the going-into-the-subforum one was supposed to have been fixed.
On spotlight wins, do you mean you have Commented on a News Post that announces the Spotlight winner for the day, or do you mean some other place?
going into the subforum, yeah.
and yeah, i meant commenting on the spotlight winner then clicking and seeing the pet belongs to a blocked user, don't know if that could be construed as trying to bypass the block, especially since the one i did on accident is a mutual block.
I dunno if it's supposed to be this way or not, but I was always bothered by the fact that people I blocked could still buy from my shop. Just seems really weird to me?

this has always been possible with sP-shops and it is also true that you can buy from their shop if they have blocked you. Other users have mentioned this in Suggestions before because they mad, and Staff responses show that this is intentional and does not in their opinion count as "communication with someone you have blocked".
CW shops have the added feature of passwords that limit who can buy from your shop and what they can buy, so implementing Block in your sP-shop might be something that can be done by Subeta? But it's not covered in the Rules of Block as given.
Ahhh, okay! Thanks for the clarification! :)

so I just had someone i've blocked buy from my shop. I know its them giving me sp, but does that mean i've unknowingly given someone i've blocked my sp? do i need to start checking shops now? i block people for a reason, i certainly dont want to give them anything
User shops have never been included in the block system, I'm afraid. As mentioned above, this is not a bug.
Everyone is welcome to discuss this further, but please keep further discussion on user shop blocking in Suggestions or Site Feedback, since this bug report is for finding those places we have unintentionally overlooked. Thank you!

ah sorry I didnt see the post prior mentioning
I have found that I could see blocked users on the Masquerade forums. That is to say, I had no idea I was inviting someone I had blocked to dance because their name was not there, and the site itself also half-didn't-know either because normally I wouldn't even be able to see their posts at all.
Only after Inviting them to dance, did I get the error message saying I could not dance with this user. I'm not sure if this is an error. I've been at masked balls where I have unintentionally spoken/had a drink with someone I never otherwise would have.
Someone's donation to the donation center when they dump a shit ton of the same items.
No to blocking affecting the Donation Corner. There is no good reason to do this.
Blocking should only be used to prevent direct interactions, such as sMail, forums and certain event activities (dancing, flowers). The DC is not a direct interaction with another user. Anyone can drop items in there for anyone to take. It can't be used to harass an individual user.
Being able to block a user just to hide a mass DC dump would get abused for convenience. People shouldn't be able to pick and choose what they see there to make it easier to find good stuff.
How about removing usernames from donations? If people really are upset just by seeing blocked usernames in the DC, this would address that. And then it could be tidied up by stacking duplicate items.
Things I'd like the block to cover: Snowballs Mysterious Melody
Things I don't want it to cover: Donation Center shouldn't be included. Purchasing from shops shouldn't be included. Custom Wearables shouldn't be included. The only way you can track names is if you send out an invite to a particular user. Otherwise when someone purchases, it doesn't tell you who.
Honestly, Subeta has one of the best blocking policies around. It's extremely comprehensive and I appreciate it.
My sister blocked me on here the beginning of this year but she is still able to dance with me. How is that possible?
"Life asked death, "Why do people love me but hate you?" Death responded, "Because you are a beautiful lie and I am a painful truth."
Has anyone mentioned the wishlist search? I found out someone had blocked me when I chose someone to send a gift to through that, only to get the error message. I was really upset because on a previous day, when that person had been online, they showed no indication of finding me annoying or anything, I wish I could know why they blocked me and what I did wrong so I could apologise and we could come to an understanding. Yes, I know it's their loss, but it still hurts. Anyway, I don't think users you have blocked or who have blocked you should show up on the wishlist search so you don't end up trying and failing to send gifts to them.
EDIT: Apparently, people you've blocked can still join forum groups that you own. And also, I noticed during Masq that the person who blocked me who I mentioned above still appeared in the background on the dance floor for me. I blocked them back, just so you know, that was before Masq started.
I can see the comments of a user I’ve blocked on the profile of another user, but not on the comments page. I assume that means I shouldn’t be able to see them on the profile either?
