HAT DESIGN WEEK
Wednesday, we celebrate National Hat Day at January 15! Hats, hats, hats … where do we even begin?
Hats have been worn as fashion accessories and also as protective gear. They’ve been worn to protect from the sun, to provide warmth, or even to indicate social status or festivities. Hat making is called millinery (the name comes from when high fashion was based in Milan). Millinery as a traditional occupation included creating hats and bonnets but also chose lace, trim and accessories to complete an outfit. Hats enable the person wearing them to be absolutely anything, and to bring a sprig of style to an outfit, and truly round it out.
Challenge: This week is Design-Your-Own-Hat-Week! Yes, your OWN hat. Design a HA with a hat item made by yourself which means don´t use an item called hat or chapeau or similar to that. Construct your own amazing hat out of other items and post the theme of the outfit with your HA. Go all-out here!
You are allowed to use all clothing items, CWs included, and you don´t have to own the items. Each participant is allowed to post 3 HAs if they wish so. Please post the HAs here, preferably with the Share function. Please use surroundings. Contest ends Sunday 20th of January at midnight.
