There’s a specific item I want but can’t afford, am I allowed to trade artwork in return for the item if I could find someone who’s interested? And what forum would I advertise that in? Advertising/wanted or art market?

this is probably best suited for a ticket so a staff member can give their official statement on whether or not this complies with the rules. i feel like as long as you and another user agree on the trade, there's probably nothing wrong with that - but again, you shouldn't rely on regular users' interpretations of the rules if you're unsure.

as for which forum it should go under, both make sense, but the art market rules state:

Quote
All selling/buying/auctioning/free of hand/tablet-drawn artwork or other real-world media creations belong solely here in the Art Market.
so that indicates to me that, while it could fit under either forum, the fact that you are looking to provide art to another user in exchange for something means it has to go in the art market.

again, though, definitely file a ticket to make sure this is okay.

As Frenchi said filling a ticket is the guarantee of a solid answer, but I have done this kind of trade in the past and you can find artists accepting wishlist items as payments in the boards too, so I'd say it's pretty safe ^^ I love to trade items for art so maybe let me know what you're looking for and we can come to terms

Thank you so much! Art market for sure then

I was pretty confident art could be traded for items but I figured I’d ask! I’m not gonna bother with the the ticket. The item I want is I don’t think it’s possible to get it anywhere atm besides the one person selling it in their shop but if you’re interested enough in my art to spend 100 mil on the gun I’d love to trade with you lol ;_;
