Ok so, I don't usually go to that shop much so idk if this has been a Thing for a long time and I just never noticed or forgot about it, but does anyone know why she's (as far as I can tell) the only shopkeeper who randomly greets you by your username and says something about a "potion experiment" (or "battle scroll" or "secret love potion" what she says there tends to rotate too) and then suggests a specific item I should be looking for? is that just random or am I actually supposed to be doing something specific with those items she wants me to buy?

I've been doing some more restocking from different shops lately and noticed this and now I'm curious.. was it at some point plot related or something (I've been here for over 8 years but I've been on hiatus for 2.5 years somewhere in the middle of that so I missed things)

Pretty sure it's just to hint to the fact the items from that shop are used to craft scrolls which can be made at the secluded shrine in the Sacred Lands.

It's relatively new, I think it was done the last time that restocking was revamped so around three and a half years ago. It wasn't part of any site event I remember. When I got my Scroll making achievements I just made whatever was profitable to sell to other users at the time, so if there's a relation between what she says and scroll making, I didn't discover it.

My personal take is that the things she says are random. Maleria girding for war and only asking for weaponry and scroll ingredients for her quests is newer than that in my memory. Laure could be afraid of Maleria or simply that's not in her random queue, but she never mentions it.

It's been Suggested that other NPC shopkeepers also have random dialogue, but this has not been commented on by staff or implemented.
