I just logged on and saw I've got my first verbal warning after 6 years being here, apparently it was because my signature and side picture was over sized, the side pic was 200 x270, and the siggy was the christmas tree link? code. Im in England and wasnt on last night when I got the warning, I can only assume that the Christmas tree plus the side pic added up too much, but its made me feel bummed out, just saying. Easily done I guess. This is probably in the wrong forum as well.
How big is the tree picture? So in future we know how big to make any other things on our posts.

I've never been sure how the rules work for image sizes. I do know that the tree size is variable if you are using the proper tree code (rather than an image of your tree).

I recommend sending in a ticket and asking exactly what the problem was to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Usually befote you finalize your forum siggy it tells you how big it is so you can make adjustments to have it fit in the sizethey want.

you can't rely on that, it's broken. mine has said "Your current signature is 0 pixels tall" for ages, i have to estimate instead ;c

i'm not sure if it's consistent across browsers since i think it automatically adjusts? but when i take a screen cap of the tree in 's signature, it's 150 px.

for what it's worth, verbal warnings don't really mean much of anything, especially if it's for something as inane as an oversized signature. don't stress too much, it happens to most of us at one point or another.

if, say, you got repeated verbal warnings for actual rule infringements, they could add up to an official warning. but in this case it's no big deal.

Way back when, I once got a warning for a forumset that was like all of 10px over the height limit. I don't remember the specific number, just that it was really small and definitely not noticeable. I wouldn't fret over something so minor though; we've all had it happen. :) Some of us (me) more than once. P:

Yeah I recently had the same thing happen to me (my forum image was too big combined with my signature). It made me feel sick. I filed a ticket after I 'fixed' it just to make sure everything was okay. Here's the details I learned: Your forum image plus whatever is in your signature count toward your total height; the limit is 325 pixels. If you're unsure what size an image is you can right click it and open it in a new tab and most of the time it'll give you the size (this doesn't seem to work with tree image/link). If you add a subeta item image that counts as 64 pixels. = 64 pixels And most lines of text count as 10 pixels.

I was worried about going over again myself, so when it came to the tree I just made a link instead of using the tree code because I had no idea what size to count the tree as since it's suppose to adjust automatically but it still seemed too big and I didn't want to risk another warning.

Thank you everyone, as least now I know that the tree image is a bit random although Britneys is 150 as well so that might be the size.
My side pic was 270 high in all fairness, Ill have to make it teeny tiny or have one or the other. Thanks everyone, I feel a lot better.
