I didn't mean to Necro an old thread, I was following the suggestion from this thread: Useful Suggestions Ideas Threads that said to post ideas there, and did not see the date stamp until too late. - Should the topics linked to on that thread stay active or be locked after a certain amount of time? Because they are being pointed out as places to post.
I won't re-tag Amber I'm sure she gets plenty of pings in a day. But I would like to know if this idea was ever thought through, and either dismissed or tucked away as a possibility.
I was looking to see if anyone&;s thought of a pantry before, and it seems that Seerow has, but I wanted to ask if it&;s been given any thought as a possibility?</p>
<p>I keep running into the problem (especially when crafting the recipes that only take 5-30 mins, with 5+ingredients..) of having a too-full inventory. I&;m trying to complete quests while they&;re baking but I have to empty out the clutter fives times as often as usual.</p>
<p>Is there any way we could have an ingredients cupboard? maybe something attached to the vault system. a special "pantry" only for cooking supplies. It would maybe need a filter in the code that would amount to "Is this used in any fantine recipes? YES: add to pantry. NO: this item isn&;t an ingredient!"</p>
<p>Then, and I don&;t know if this code is super complex or not, fantine could just pull from your pantry instead of (or in addition to? or before?) your inventory.</p>

Would love a pantry.
Its something that keeps me from baking more regularly! I hate running around gathering individual ingredients, I want to pull out enough stuff to bake several items in a row. But as you said, this overfills the inventory and interferes with everything.

I've been in support of a pantry since Fantine's Bakery was released. I hope they come out with one one day! What's said above is the main reason I haven't really done any Baking.

I find myself ambivalent about this Suggestion.
I think that one of the things a pantry does is lessen the need for a GA. The reason I think this is with 250 items in my Inventory, it's not so bad for me to stock ingredients for several bakes in a row. The Vault is set up so I can categorize a Pantry of items that are bakeable and all I need to to is ka-chick the box off one of each of the needed items and the process to get one batch's-worth of stuff, so it's not super-necessary to be coded into the site when everyone can do this for themselves, if they like
If this gets implemented so that there is such a thing as a pantry, it should be something you can buy in the Cash Shop like a Kitchen Contractor, or something really expensive like a Steamworks Icebox from Yun Enterprises for 25MsP, or have as a GA perk.
