Thank you for these new quests! Thank you for also not casting aside Dungarde and forgetting they are a thing. This was a very welcome surprise to come back on and see! Also just picturing Ian and Jaxon enjoying Subeta as a couple is adorable!
We would have liked to do more but we had so little time! We're so happy to continue the lore on even just a little bit :)
I love the idea as well. This part of the lore is definitely my favourite, and the whole thing is very cute. The quests themselves could use some adjusting, I believe, but the idea... it's so adorable, I really like that this new character is being used :)

I like how Stuff keeps trying to widening the item pool, but I also feel like Melody's ornament timer could stand to go down.
I'm trying to keep ornaments stocked for others by opening boxes and at a reasonable price, but who knows how many are actually using them for quests?
there's a limit of fifty on trees, and there's no Collection Achievement.
It's true that just like there's someone who has a Gallery of just about anything and some users are doing the complete collection, but I don't think this is a lot of people. I think most of the opened ornaments are being used on quests, first Quentin then Ian.
Opening boxes is dull, and the sP reward for doing so isn't high enough for me as it is because there's a lot of "duds" that the site never does use up. Me if I want an ornament, I just buy it from someone.
I was just how many people snipe ones for cheaper prices and sell for the inflated prices was what I was thinking when I made that. They're free to do that too, no matter what preferences I have.
Glad the dungarde is getting mentioned so soon after the plot! But what is he gonna do with all that lumi stuff after luminaire's done???
The quests were worse in the beginning; people posted in the news about Ian requesting unbuyables and even the achievement prize! :O
I personally am not interested in most ornaments; I just collect the candy/ sweet based ones and sell the rest. I wish Ian's quests gave a bit more sp, though. And the crystals themselves are pretty cheap. I remember them selling for only 1k in user shops several days ago.

I think it's a lovely idea but I haven't even looked at the quests because the lag has been horrendous today.
Thank you so much for bringing us these new quests! I remember lots of users were suggesting them when Morostide ended, so it's a welcome treat to quest for the Dungarde! It's really nice to have a new incentive to collect ornaments, instead of just opening the boxes and fragmentizing them. Initially it seemed like the quests were a tad bit expensive (100-200k items), but I really don't mind that too much since I generally have most of the items hidden in my vault or some random place.
I really hope there is a way that these quests could become a permanent feature with Ian asking for different seasonal items as the seasons change on subeta. For example, maybe something like masks or lounge drinks for masquerade. Or even trick or treat, or pumpkin patch items for Morostide; gardening stuff for Vesnali, etc. The possibilities could be endless!
Thank you so much for listening and bringing us an exciting new feature!

Yeah, I remember the suggestion forum about quests for the Dungarde! Nice to see it implemented! I don't think the Dungarde can drink though??

I would love to see the Dungarde say thanks before the holiday is over. Just seeing him buried under a mountain of ornaments and looking so darn happy! ;-;
Maybe not, but my point is that there are ways to keep Dungarde's quests going if they wanted to.

Of course we can get Dungarde some little drinkies. Heat ethanol over a low heat and it vaporizes, because: it's spirits. :) Not only that but there's likely some righteous vapes that might mix harmoniously with his own vapors available via Ziara Underground, I know a dude. He's the one with the two Nightmare Aeanoids as guard-pets.
I have opened nearly five hundred of my stash of Old Boxes and boy is Ian picky to ask for some of these, because they just don't show up in the two thousand items I got from those. How about asking for all the useless letter ornaments which are about half of them and whose price doesn't go up and don't ever sell? You can break them up and use them for glitter or something. This many boxen for me is like a whole Luminaire's-worth of constant donation at Melody's.
Given the lag I have only just managed to do the quests, and I only did 6/10 because of the prices. And every single one was a loss. As much as I'd like some more easy achievements, they're just not worth doing.

I had a go at the quests yesterday when the lag cleared up and again today. I quit most of them because of the ridiculous prices. Why does this quest ask for things like stickers costing over 1 million sP?
I think this was a well executed idea! I love that the quests give Humming Power Crystals, and I love the item pool it's taking. It gives a good use for crafts, stickers and ornaments.. where there wasn't really a demand for them before.
I love this idea!
That said, I'm wondering if part of the crazy inflation issue is that nobody knows how long this quest will be around. Given that there's achievements involved, requiring a fairly high number of quests to be completed, I'm pretty sure part of the inflation is because people are willing to spend illogical amounts of gold to make sure they get quests/achievements done "in time." I know I'm one of these people.
If this is a quest that's going to continue after Luminaire, or if it will come around again next year, that would be handy to know.
Edit: Add in the recent Morty Card situation and you have a lot more people doing a lot more quests in general, to boot.
Can’t there be a price cap script where items over 50k aren’t asked for? Like with Quentin’s quests.

I second the suggestion with the price cap. I don't object to these seasonal quests at all. But due to the limited nature, the items Ian asked for are REALLY inflating. Can that please be tweaked before Christmas?
Just here to add my support for a price cap on the requested items. I really love the idea of these quests, like you have no idea (all I ever wanted was to work for Ian haha), but they're so darn expensive that now that I've finished the achievements, I simply can't justify doing any more of them. Yet I so want to do more. :(
