since early this year I have been in and out of doctor offices, i found out I have Degenerative Disc Disease of the L4-5 and L5-S1 which has pinched my nerve root and numbing/stabbing Pain that shoots down my leg into my foot, which has caused numerous falls. I also have arthritis in said location. I've been through 3 steroid epidural injections which have a pain free effects of apx 3 days.

My cervical spine doctor is telling me I am going to have to have surgery (Sx), which may or may not relieve my pain. However he is saying it wont be till April o.O and says i will not be back to my normal hard working life if i even will be able to return to work. And on top of the news i was given he also gave me a permanent handicap form to get filled out at the DMV. My spirits are further crushed when he said this is something ill have to live with for the rest of my life, and the Sx may only relieve some f the pain...

Any how i've been doing a lot of research about spine fusion, I see him again in January 2019 with questions

  1. What are the side effects, potential risks, and potential complications of the Sx?
  2. In Patient/Out Patient Sx
  3. How will it be preformed Posterior/Anterior
  4. Will there be anything removed?
  5. Im also going to ask him to explain the procedure in great detail

Thank you if you have read this far, My question to you is....

  1. have you had this surgery? How has the Sx helped/hindered? ~ If so how were the results? ~ If not, but you know some one, and have witnessed them before and after Sx

I had more questions when i started this post, however i suffer memory loss and have trouble focusing. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated, and please understand no matter what anyone say i will be moving forward with the Sx as i am tired of the pain every day from pure annoyance to Sever cry your self to sleep to escape

I recall success from your Survival thread.

I can scarcely imagine that kind of pain. The closest in my case was getting carved up by a dog. I'd hate to be incapacitated, though I'm under treatment for schizophrenia. The meds doing fine job of provoking dreamless sleep. I'd go insane in your situation.

A song from 2018 I've been saving for one person's last dance, is in the spirit of your signature's wording. I'm glad they're amused by my hologram dance partner HA.

Old, and obsolete.
