COTTON CANDY DAYS
Today, National Cotton Candy Day is celebrated country-wide! The go-to at county fairs and a must-have when riding a ferris wheel. Carnivals, fairs, and more. The cotton candy scent brings the childhood memories back!
When spun, cotton candy's all white because it's made from just sugar. Adding dye can transform the color, the most popular being a light pink one. Though thin, the treat can be very long. In fact, the longest cotton candy was created in July 2009 and stretched over 1,400 meters.
In England, it’s called candy floss. In Australia and Finland, it’s called fairy floss. In the Netherlands, it’s known as suikerspin, which means “sugar spider.” Traveling to France? Call it barbe à papa, which means papa’s beard. In Germany, we call it Zuckerwatte which means sugar cotton.
During the 18th century when spun sugar was first recorded in Europe, it was very expensive and labor-intensive and generally was not available to the average person.
Dentist William Morrison and confectioner John C. Wharton are credited for the invention of machine-spun cotton candy in 1897.
Then it was introduced to a wide audience at the 1904 World’s Fair as Fairy Floss.
People loved it and bought over 68,000 boxes for 25 cents a box.

I will be forever salty that we don't have huge fairs where I live. The closest I get is the Christmas Market (which is awesome, don't get me wrong), but you don't get much there besides mulled wine and roasted almonds xD Least of all other cotton candy than one single color (usually white) which is a shame? Because it's so cute? I mean???
Thus I decided to honor colorful cotton candy with, well, a cotton candy colored HA!

I like cotton candy but I love cotton candy flavored/scented things. 9 times out of 10 if cotton candy is a flavor option that's the one I'm getting ;)
