I was looking at someone's pet profile because I wanted to check if the name was in use or up for grabs, and I couldn't help noticing that the pet had "(Legacy)" underneath its general information. I checked the rules and it said if a user passed away, the account name of the user would be kept as a legacy profile, but pet names would go up for grabs. At the risk of sounding insensitive (and I don't know if the user who owns the pet has passed away or what), why is the pet called a Legacy pet then? I'm just confused from when I tried looking up legacy stuff.
Legacy pets are ones made BEFORE the tracking system of pet dates started. However once given away it loses that legacy next to the date. It doesn't make the pet name unusable.
As for figuring out open names to use. There's always a big banner saying "this pet(or user name) is inactive and you can change your name to it" or something like that. Banners seem to go up about 2ish months ahead of when things will clear. A deceased user will say deceased rather than inactive. In this case username can't be taken but pet names can.
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
Ahhh, okay, I see! Thank you for explaining that to me. I knew about the banner, but I got really confused when I saw the legacy term on a pet's page. I wondered if the name would ever be available, seeing that word there! Now I know, maybe someday in the future... I'll keep my eye on it! Thanks again c=
