My pet Achat used to be a Scootle and therefore genderless. Due to the fact that I had no ideas for them, I decided to change them into a Galactic Escalade. At first I was very happy about that choice because the're gorgeous now, but then I realized that they're suddenly a boy. Is that right? Did they change gender upon transforming? I got no warning about this beforehand, otherwise I would have used the zapper on them in order to at least get a female :( Was that seriously a waste of an Escalade elixir and crystals now?

Yes, it seems that this is supposed to happen. This news post says that scootles are genderless, but they don't stay genderless if they get turned into another species.

:( Sorry that this happened to you and I agree - there should be a warning about it somewhere, but I'm not sure where to put it.

If you want a genderless pet, you can buy genderless berries from the Millionaire Center, or from other users! Just be careful when using it because it has a "feed to" and "use on" option. During Masquerade, you can also create genderless endeavors and cadogres for a fee. I believe they stay genderless even after you change their species.

If you want your pet to be a female, you can still zap them until you get a gender change. Or you can buy a gender berry, but that one also has a "feed to" and "use on" option so you need to be a little careful about what you click.

And if you need a spare Escalade elixir and the set of crystals to change them back after zapping for a gender change, give me a nudge. I'd be happy to send you those. c:

However when I saw this thread I was briefly excited because I thought someone else was having my problem. I created a yaherra as a female a while back but recently noticed the male icon. I filed a ticket about it but I haven't heard back in 2 weeks now. With all the problems the site was having I was just going to wait my turn but I would really like to know how this happened since she's at the bottom of my pet list and has been no where near the zapper or a gender berry.

I do remember a glitch from years ago where pets tended to just... randomly change genders. It was supposedly fixed, but it might be rearing its head among all the site hiccups. :/ Maybe post on the ticket and remind the staff member? 2 weeks is an awful long time to wait for an answer and from my experiences, they don't mind tickets being nudged to remind them that you're still waiting to hear back.

Thanks for telling me about that glitch, I didn't know that had ever happened before and would certainly explain this occurrence. I will write on the ticket again today.

Thanks for clearing that up! Guess I should have just done some research before changing them ... O well. I'll go with the zapper-option since though the genderless pet would have been neat, female works, too.

Thank you so, so much for offering to send me the elixir and crystals, that is very kind of you :) I will, however, fix this myself since it was ultimately my own mistake and it is more annoying than it is expensive :( I do appreciate the offer though and again, thank you for helping :)
