This has always been a horrific name for an item of clothing in the real world, particularly since they already have a fine name, and it's really jarring every time I see it on the site.
There's no reason it can't just be called Stained Tank Top.
Please and thank you.
I am pretty sure this has been suggested before and shot down. I need to see if I can find said topic. [edit] Can't find it but I know for a fact I have seen a topic like this before... [edit] Found it!!!
Reading through that thread and one it links to... "I don't see how this has anything to do with domestic abuse." I... I... The name is...
sigh
Stop the world, I want to get off.
Anyway... I think the name is fine. Unless we change it to the old guy mustard stained shirt or whatever was suggested on the previous thread linked here.
Its a "Fashion" term, which is different from the Attitude Adjuster that used to be named something about beating spouses.

I could have sworn we already renamed this. It's weird that that other thread references both this and the Spousal Attitude Adjuster (now just Attitude Adjuster), but only one of the two items got renamed.

I know it's just a fashion term and it doesn't particularly bother me, but I don't see the issue in changing the name. It's a minor thing. Maybe 'Stained Old Tanktop' or something like that.

we have lots of dumb "fashion terms." demi-denim. dolce and gabbana. etc etc. we don't have to keep using them just because.
that aside, i think it should be renamed to use "tank top" just so it shows up with all the other tank tops in the wardrobe. i think it's the only one that doesn't use the term.
The shirt takes its name from a stereotype, ie: "that guy looks like a wife beater" in which it's a working class man who wears a white undershirt without a top, viewed as dirty, uneducated and most likely alcoholic (sometimes hick too). It does a disservice to the men who get judged for their appearance/profession, and trivializes domestic violence as well. It's one of those things that have been used for a long time so we don't usually think twice about using it, but we don't need to perpetuate it if we don't have to once it's been pointed out.
yea i mean i dont think its something major just to call it a stained tank top. yes, it's a fashion term. but it's an ugly, outdated fashion term that as said above, trivializes domestic violence. really not needed on this site lmfao.
yeet it out of existence, it needs a revamp too anyway so. why not go full on
I support a revamp and calling it a stained tank top.
I found an interesting article about it - https://mic.com/articles/139771/why-are-we-still-calling-white-tank-tops-wife-beaters#.Kx2m1RSwR
It seems that a lot of people object to the name in real life. It's also a unisex item of clothing now. It's not a particularly old term, either, because it only came into use in the late 1990's

It's ridiculous to insist on keeping the name because "that's just what that style of top is called". Strange to see Subeta continue to use it, given that other item names were changed due to being potentially offensive.
Sure, I'll support. It's a dumb name. (And it never comes up with the other tank tops in the wardrobe.)
Considering how many times I've seen this item come up over the years, I think it's time to think about renaming it. Custom wearables were renamed for less serious reasons (grey vs. gray for example), so I think it's fair for this item's name to be changed too. I've also never been a fan of the name myself.
big support. it's a shame this ever got shut down. i mean, come on.
With the amount of social consciousness and LGBTQ inclusiveness this site has, seeing this item named this way is extremely disappointing, even more so now that it's had attention called to it and nothing has been done. Trashed Tank Top, Stained Undershirt, Unwashed Tank Top.... there are several more appropriate names
