I logged onto my computer just now and Safari was already running. The page that was showing was a Bing search result for some kind of shotgun. I am the only one with access to this computer besides my mom, who used it once to check if the internet was working or if it was a problem with her computer. I don't even like guns. I don't like being around them or seeing them or anything. For that matter, I don't even use Bing. So I'm kind of freaked out. I don't know what to think of this. My wifi is extremely secure (I thought). The word to get in is ridiculously complicated and doesn't connect to anything in my life. My network name isn't connected to my name or anything that anyone could know whose it is. I'm not sure if this is just some weird glitch or if I should be concerned or what. I tried googling things like 'there was a search I didn't do' and 'bing search results I didn't search for' etc, but nothing came up.
Halp wut do?
Is it possible you accidently typed in one letter and it finshed it without you noticing? You only have to write only a s and it starts guessing, and searching.
(Sometimes its even worse when Siri is on. It hears everything you say and it starts searching. It happend to me once when I was talking on the other side of the room. Yay to Mac to scare the living daylight out of you).
But if you’re really worried I advice you to delete your history on your safari, to download ESET, scan it once and you’re done. Or malwarebytes is a good one too (:
ESET has a free try and easy to remove. Malwarebytes is free and very useful.
This might sound like i'm joking but do you have a history of sleepwalking or anything like that? I used to do all sorts of things online in my sleep.
It's a mac, so it knows how to check itself, lol. I hadn't been online that day and I always close everything beforehand. The only thing I can think is my mom must have done something weird. She doesn't really understand Macs.
Nope, I never have. I would have known too, because my kitten is locked in that room overnight right now while my cat gets used to him. He couldn't have done it either because I have the desk blocked off so he doesn't mess with anything lol.
Hm. Then it does sound like your mom might have messed around. Its probably nothing
She might have an explanation if you ask her about it? Maybe she wanted info for some reason, I use my bf's computer sometimes
I got nothing then. Maybe one of your cats is finally following through on taking over the world
Yeesh, you're brave. I can't imagine introducing a new cat to mine. She's so spoiled I'm pretty sure she'd murder me in my sleep
They're actually doing pretty well. For two weeks, I had Benny (the kitten) in his own room, locked away from the rest of the house, and they just sniffed each other under the door. Then we gradually brought him our for longer and longer in our arms and in a carrier, until Emma (my 6-year-old cat) stopped going apeshit when she saw him. Now he has the run of the house except for when us humans aren't home and at night, when he still stays in his room. Emma only whacks poor Ben across the head and hisses and growls at him every so often to make sure he knows his place. He actually doesn't seem to care about when she's mad at him. He just backs off and goes about playing or whatever he was doing. I give it another month or two and they'll be friends.
Aw that's sweet. My girl has lived with other cats in the past, but she's never gotten along with any of them. no matter how we tried to introduce them to her. We eventually gave up and accepted the fact she's a cranky lady who likes having us all to herself.
