There's a pet name I was wanting but it's owned by a very inactive account, but it's not reached the limit where the name can be claimed. What is that limit? I'm trying to decide if I want to hold off to try and get the name or just go with something else.

the account has to be inactive for 1 year before names are eligible for grabs

keep in mind some people log in every so often just to prevent their accounts from being marked inactive, so even if you've been waiting 10 months and nobody's been on the account, they might log in at the last minute and reset the counter.

There's usually a banner stating it'll clear x date about 3 months ahead if i remember right. And yes sadly some people "quit" but still login just enough to name hoard.

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.

The banner shows up at 10 months of inactivity, so depending on what you're using to tell how inactive they are (if there's no last login date on their profile), that's what you'd want to watch for. They'd still have those two months to log in before the name clears after a year though

Thanks everyone. The account in question has a create date and inactive time almost identical. Which is why I'm even considering waiting it out.
