NATIONAL REDHEAD DAY
Today is Redhead Day! This November 5, we are calling on everyone to celebrate redheads for having one of the most alluring and rarest of all hair colors. From fiery copper to strawberry blonde and deep burgundy, whatever your shade or dye, today is a day for redheads to celebrate their tresses.
Only two percent of the world's population has red hair and even if it´s such a pretty hair color, the chance to become a redhead slows to a trickle because of genetics. That´s because red hair is caused by the mutation of a gene that creates a new recessive gene, MC1R.
Redheads are great at making their own Vitamin D. This is likely because they have less eumelanin in their bodies than other hair colors, so they've got to make up for it somehow.
Beating out both blondes and brunettes, more redheads are left-handed than any other hair color. Yet another thing that makes them stand out even more.
According to research, redheads have on average 90,000 strands of hair. This is fewer than brunettes who clock in at 140,000 strands and blondes at 110,000.
Another plus of being a redhead is that their hair turns to grey slower than other hair colors. So enjoy and embrace that color even more!
The originators of this event wanted to create a recognized day of the year that empowered redheads to love their hair and not natural redheaded people to try out a dye in these gorgeous shades. But, most of all, it’s a reminder for women and men everywhere, redhead or not, to love their unique qualities!
Challenge:
Create a redheaded HA yet don´t use any items which have the word "red" in its description!
Like always, all wearables are allowed and you don´t have to own them. Please use surroundings and a nice makeup and face shading to give a powerful impression like redheads leave them. Be it totally natural or model-like, it´s up to you yet let them shine out!

totally just using this as an excuse to make a bunch of my red headed OCs. i'm gonna update this post later as i make more, just see how many of them i can cram in before tomorrow night/getting bored.

Rory - a filthy punk with a heart of gold who goes out of his way to both cause trouble for authority and help those authorised over at every given opportunity. that nice, blank - erm, almost blank - brick wall is toast.
Amanita - sure, she looks cute, but watch your cookie stash, your weed stash, your incriminating magazine stash, the bolts holding your car together, and your wallet. like, imagine matilda minus the super powers and chaotic evil instead of chaotic good. and one more thing -- do not mess with her brother.
Jeremiah - hopefully strawberry blonds count? they're a chill hippy with a knack for machines and erm, quite a lot of fighting ability for someone who doesn't believe in violence. did they say that? they meant they don't believe in using violence first. they've had a bit of a hard life.
