I’m halfway to getting access to the blue building and I need to know— when you adopt a bumbus there, are you able to transform an existing pet? Or is it adopt a new one only? Is there anything else I need to know about the process?

EDIT:Apparently you need a random event to transform a pet? How likely am i to get this? :x btw I’m using the fandom wiki for info and its not v reliable, is there a popular subeta help site? Like how neo has JN?

Subetalodge exists, but it is not as thorough in the things it covers.

It truly is dependent on a Random Event to change an existing pet into a Bumbus, so the fandom site is correct ont that. It used to be that you'd get it just as often if not more so than the "Ice King challenges you" random event.

I wanted to see (because some new user was asking here in Help & Questions) just how long someone would have to wait to get a new RE. Me and everyone else on the thread was like "oh you are so impatient, it's gonna happen to you whether or not you want it". I refused my last invitation from the Bumbus Queen to convert one of my pets to see how long. This event may have been permanently disabled, or it may now be seasonal, because I haven't seen it in a really really really long time and still haven't regained the option to convert.

I think the only way to force a conversion is to get a Bumbus Schematic or Nostalgic Bumbus Instructions and then convert it to the color you want with a Potion.

If it’s been a super long time maybe it’s worth a bug report to have it checked up on? I haven’t seen it in a long time either for that matter, but I miss random events really easily.

even if you miss the RE if you go to the Blue Building after it occurs you will get access to the Bumbus Queen on Floor 7. I just went to the Blue Building before making my last post, so I personally haven't gotten one. Clicking it isn't required like it is for Tempest or Ice King, it's more like the extra Wizard Quest one where even if you don't see it it shows up.

Maybe the RE still exists but it's much rarer? Maybe someone else who hangs in H&Q will have seen it since then.

i haven't gotten it in ages. do you know if they changed it so you can't get it anymore if you already have an active bumbus queen quest? i remember i used to get it very frequently which i found frustrating since i already had the active quest which i never intended to complete (but kept active just in case i ever changed my mind) but it is true that at a certain point i stopped seeing it. i just thought maybe they implemented that suggested change (i.e. if you already have an active bumbus queen quest, you can't get the random event summoning you for the quest).
