The Voyage Home

In the morning after the beach party, bags were packed, the happy vacationers shuttled to the space port, souvenirs all accounted for and passengers loaded up aboard Terrapin Glider for the ride home. Once aboard, there was a final reconciliation for all accounts, credits transferred and approval for take-off granted. Private Outfit

Once out of orbit and heading for home, Frieda engaged the auto pilot, unstrapped herself from the pilot's seat and made for the large galley to get a little club soda to settle her upset tummy. She must be four weeks pregnant by now, though she never had morning sickness before. She greeted her friends and sat down with her soda.

"Well, that was some vacation! Never in my wildest dreams could I have ever imagined a better time, though I've had some very nice vacations in the past." She pondered that for a moment and then had an idea, "Say, I'll tell you what, while we're all here. How about we all tell about the best vacation memory we ever had in the past...you know, not including this one we just had."

Oh wow!!!! It's been such a good trip isn't it? ;D Tho I had more fun while we're on our way there loool...

A favorite vacation is the trip to Florida, during the winter of course haha. Unlike others who most likely go to Disneyland we went to the beach to enjoy the white sand and cool breeze and ofc the tropical view :) There is crowdiness anyway where Disneyland is and on the exits we could see cars freezing there lol.. besides nature is always better than manmade so :D

When I was 5 my family took a road trip to Disneyland for Christmas. Being five, I don't remember much, but I do remember two things. One was the Grand Canyon - even at five I could see how spectacular it was.

The other memory was being worried that Santa wouldn't be able to find us because we were staying in a hotel instead of at home. My family reassured me that Santa always knew where all the children were and there would indeed be gifts Christmas morning.

My husband and I have gone to the Hawaiian islands for most of our vacations. We went to Kauai for our honeymoon in 2000 and continued to go once or twice a year for many years. Each time we visited a different island. We loved it so much, we began taking with us which made it even better!

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing the sunrise or sunset there. The sky is so colorful it takes your breath away. The water is crystal clear with various shades of blue, aqua, and green. There are so many colorful fish swimming around. We went whale watching and were amazed...except when one of us got seasick...enough said, lol. Several times we stayed right next to the water. There is nothing quite like hearing the waves break on the shore as you fall asleep at night and wake up in the morning.

Visiting Kilauea Volcano was fantastic. It makes one see how tiny we are in the world. Each time we’ve visited the Big Island we have visited the volcano and it is always different because it is has been continuously erupting since 1983.

One of our funniest memories is when my husband took Kris and I to visit the Maui Aquarium. We stood in a long line, took commenorative pictures, paid $100 each for the full tour package and entered. Kris and I were awe struck by the most amazing sea creatures we’d ever seen. We took pictures and wandered from tank room to tank room completely entranced. However, 15 minutes into it my husband announced that they are just a bunch of fish. “You see one fish, you’ve seen them all!” It reminded us of the Chevy Chase movie where the family went to visit the Grand Canyon. It took them forever to get there and with one look, he was ready to go!

In 2015 we went with one of my brother-in-laws and his wife and had a delightful time. Unfortunately, we have not been able to go back since then because of illnesses of various loved ones that have kept us on the mainland for mini vacations instead. We look forward to visiting the Hawaiian Islands someday soon.

A favorite vacation for me. Me and my little family in Louisiana. The friendly people, the food, the music...the food. Did I mention food? I learned about a Muffaletta and have since tried to make them. None as good as what I had in New Orleans though. I don't do well in humidity and it was so humid but I loved this trip so much I didn't mind humidity. The music and dancing...Preservation Hall! And Lake Ponchartrain! Wow! We drove the causeway over that lake and it was like driving over an ocean - amazing! That was a trip I'll never forget.

Dear I hope you are feeling better soon ❤

when i was 18 i got on the plane to germany all by myself as i couldnt get any friends to save the money for it. i had relatives to visit ...an a dream to fullfill in england. so with backpack only off i went

well landing in franfurt germany i ran into a photo op of a lady i met in the bathroom damn now what wa her name....oh ya angie dickenson a popular star at some point in the lifetime. other rcognized her and then i was whoa..total photo op!!

after visiting a few relatives my oma and many uncles aunts and cousins i was on my way to england a

cruiseship my uncle was head statesman and got me free everything aboard and then in the morning i was invited to the captains "room" where i got to watch him dock the huge ship.

So in england(mind you i had bright pink jeans and pink hair and white clogs as my staple outfit)i visited one cathedral to tell my papa about THEN to the streets that are similair to hollywood..all the punk tailings and people i fit right in and spent two days there..i was very happy. i met alot of people one just coming back from ireland originally from new york..she had hauled some stout from there that we shared. i stayed at youth hostels and met a very cut punker that we later penpalled around.

next i used my eirrail pass to go to through belgium south to munchen for oktoberfest with a girl that i met on the train...needless to say we had a ball and woke up on the sleepers at the french border hahaha not knowing how we made it even to the train. we jumped over to france and had a beer then we parted ways.

the last of my trip was behind the iron curtain to visit my family there in east germany..again looking OUT of place there i got searched at the boarder had to sign in there and again at my uncles house..everyone there is accounted for and has a registry in their house. being there and the rules each household had and the scant shelves in the meager shops it was hard to find a souvenire..mostly hand crafted things there.

one more family viist on the west side(my family got split in half RIGHT by the border in northern germany.
coming back to the stated i literally KISSED the floor in new york!! totally appreachiating being stateside

...i was detained there as well...remember this was before anyone HAD pink hair and punk clothes in the US. then home to wisconsin. it was a miraculous trip and i met many many fun cool people that had total language rifts but we got on just fine with body language.

i didnt embellish this with details or it would get to long.

now about the time my friendand i took the greyhound to florida...fort laauderdale OMG we had found guys and partied with a goup we met the whole time...but THAT is another story.
