I check out what is being asked for most day. Lately I've been noticing that most of the time when I look, there is one item that is there most of the time. The floppy bat is there today, yesterday and most of the other times I've looked but, why? I figured there was supposed to be a rotation of the items sought each day but for the past couple of weeks it's been coming up an insane number of times.

I too have noticed the repeat of the Floppy Bat . The algorithm for item selection is not known to us users. It has failed in the past. Sometimes there are certain slots of the RB that are always "certain kinds of items" like there's always at least one spot for Random items. The Floppy Bat may be the only item of it's kind that meets all the other criteria for recyclish-ness.

Since it is Holiday season the staff member responsible for it may not have noticed. Have you checked to see if someone else has written a post in Problems & Bugs?
