Initially I wanted to make this topic solely about Halloween plans and costumes that you guys plan on wearing, but I've decided I wanna see /everything/ Halloween related that you guys have gotten recently or over the years that you feel like sharing.

I got a ouija board blanket at Ross the other day for $10 that I'm gonna try to get a decent picture of to update this post later.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share a photo of my first body paint that I'm pretty proud of. I think I might do this for Halloween, so I wanted to do a practice run. Note - In person it was a deeper red. In photos it came out more of a tomato red/pink :/

What do you guys plan to do for Halloween this year? Also, please post pics of your costumes/Halloween makeup/and Halloween goodies!

🎃

EDIT: I just realized I totally forgot to link the YT video I got the look from! Chrisspy created this dope ass look on her channel and she killed it! She also credits the person/people she got her inspiration from if you guys are interested in recreating this!

Oh good grief, I love Halloween so much! It's my favorite time of year. I've already bought so many new Halloween things, including some black roses (plastic) with a creepy looking eyeball in the middle of the flower (click) as well as this awesome mug (click) that looks like it was made out of bone.

This year I'm planning on being Shego from Kim Possible, but I'm still experimenting with how to do the makeup. I'll try and get a picture later once I've got all my ducks in a row.

That body paint job is amazing! You did a really great job.

I'm so excited for Halloween! I'm excited for fall in general. It's my favorite season. I don't care if it's "tacky", I couldn't resist some Halloween themed leggings I saw for six dollars at Wal-Mart when I was getting groceries.

Fall is the best time. I've been drowning myself in pumpkin spice. The other day I got some Halloween earrings (glow ion the dark ghosts and glitter jackolanterns) and cups at Walmart. I need multiple houses. One regular house, one spooky Halloween house and one cute Halloween house.

Shut up :O Even if the picture made it look more tomato-y, your first attempt came out fantastic I adore it! Even with red skin, I can tell that you're gorgeous oh my gosh.

I don't have pictures yet but I do have plans! So I've got a corgi named Jake, right? I'm planning on dressing him up as Jake from State Farm. I already bought a toddler-sized red polo for him along with the name badge! Just gotta buy some small wittle khakis for the little dude.

My idea for him gave me an idea for me and my husband. I'm going to be Flo the Progressive Girl, and my husband will be that fisherman (I think from the State Farm commercial?) where he's got a dollar on the fishing pole and he's like "Oh! You almost had it!" and "You gotta be quicker than that!" I ran that idea by him and he's totally game so basically we'll be handing out insurance candy.

I originally wanted him to be Mayhem from All State but...he doesn't want to wear a suit. Which I don't blame him but that would've been awesome xD

I love Halloween!

I'm actually not sure what we're dressing up as this year though. We have costumes that we didn't get to wear to the Renaissance Festival, so we might wear those. But maybe we'll come up with something else haha :P

I looove those roses and how you displayed them! I've seen roses like that before, but they all looked kinda goofy. Those actually look awesome! And I love your costume idea! I hope you'll get a pic to update!

That sounds so cute! WalMart has some really cute Halloween stuff sometimes. I got a Halloween crewneck that looks kinda like a knit sweater with a bunch of little spiders, skulls, and bats all over it several years ago. I'll have to take a look at the leggings. At least to wear around the house!

Don't shame me... but I've never had a PSL lol. :V I'm not too crazy about pumpkin spice stuff, but some of it is pretty good. And I know what you meeean. I had this plan a while ago that when I get my own place, I was gonna have a Halloween themed room for when the rest of the year sucks, lol.

Thanks so much! Everyone thought it was just a filter when I posted the pic on IG/FB. I do wish the colors came out better in the photos, but I'm pleased with it anyway. I love your costume ideas! Pleeease update us with a pic of the 3 of you or the pup at the very least! That sounds so freaking cute! And agreed, Mayhem would've been a great costume, but suits aren't the most comfortable I'd assume lol.

I love Renaissance festivals! I haven't been to one in forever and I'm dying to go again. Those would make great costumes, too! c:

Oooh they thought it was a filter? That's funny. I can see where they'd think that (especially with Snapchat these days lol). And I definitely will update with photos, especially of the pupper! It just may be a couple weeks. I have some free time next week and plan on shopping for some khakis then. Truthfully I had this idea for him last year but was too lazy to pursue it. Not this year!

And for the record, I've never had a PSL either lol.

No big thing lol. Some people enjoy pumpkin spice and some don't. To each their own. I'm a pretty big fan of pumpkin, peppermint, and gingerbread so I'm pretty happy when the season starts.

There's so much festive stuff I want to buy but just can't justify myself having it. Decor and baking supplies and costume stuff.

I'm interning on Halloween and spending my entire day with kids (I'm in my last college year and I work in a school). The school will most likely do some fun stuff on that day and everyone will be on a sugar rush. I have no idea what I will wear just yet. Something easy and breathable because I will surely be running around! I've been thinking of a light makeup with some diy horns/flowers arrangement thing.

Ooh man I LOVE Halloween, it's my absolute favorite holiday! I haven't decided what I'm dressing as yet buuut my town is having a Hocus Pocus themed festival (complete with a parade, costume contests and an outdoor screening of the movie) so I'll probably dress as Thackery Binx for that. I already have an outfit for him from a couple years ago - I kinda went with a combo of his ghost and cat form. I also might go as a pirate for the annual Halloween party I attend with friends since I'm obsessed with pirates at the moment. I have a pretty nice costume (and a matching one for my dog) from a few years ago.

That body paint job is seriously awesome!

Those eyeball roses are insanely cool/creepy, I want some. XD

I hope you're able to do it this year! And yess, I feel less alone! It's just that I rarely ever get Starbucks anyway, and when I do, I'm not passing up the opportunity to get a green tea frap with mint!

That sounds like a great idea! I had to throw together a costume a couple years ago and did just that, without the flowers. Making the horns was my favorite part!

Uuuuuuuughh, you have no idea how jealous I am that your town is having a freakin' HOCUS POCUS FESTIVAL. I love your idea of combining Thackery's ghost and cat form! Good luck with the contest! And I love a good pirate costume. I think every Halloween I'm always stuck between going the classic witch, vampire, demon etc. route or putting together something really creative and new. I love getting creative with my costumes and makeup, but I'll always have an appreciation for the more 'common' costumes as well. Also, thanks so much!

Madeyewlook on YT just did the freaking cuuutest Zero (Nightmare Before Christmas) look and I'm dying to try it out sometime! Linked it just in case anybody wanted to take a peek... nobody feel obligated to watch the video though ahaha

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!! I just wish people around my neighborhood would actually decorate for it instead of skipping it for Christmas. xD

And I recently bought a Kingdom Hearts 2 Kairi cosplay at Spirit Halloween and I'm so excited to wear it (I even did costest pics in it lmao) cause it's so comfy and extremely well-made. Now if I am able to go to the arcade on Halloween, I'm gonna wear it.

But I'm also excited for the live episode of Ghost Adventures. c:

EDIT: I also forgot about a halloween Mickey Mouse shirt I bought at Walmart cause it's just so cute and I love Mickey Mouse. xD

Okay, so, I live in germany. In germany we always had a little holiday in november called "St. Martin", where there where paperlantern parades by the schools and it was all in spirit of sharing your spoils with those who have less. At St Martin children would go around with their paperlanterns from house to house, sing and get candy in return. Thats how you used to get your free candy here!

Now, some few families try to push halloween. But germany has ZERO history with Halloween! So understandably the elder folk refuse. "Why should we give you free candy? Its not a holiday! You dont even sing! Work for your candy" (Thats simply how germany always was in their times. ) And subsequently get egged. Now the egging is even more against all germans can deal with. a) its a waste of food. Once you live in a completely bombed down country you shun every wasted drop of milk. And these people lived that hell that was post war germany. b) our houses simply aint built to get rid of .. egg! So the stains remain for months if not years and smell like shit, cause we cant clean it off properly!

I am on the fence. Yeah I am annoyed that people essentially demand that I give their kids candy or my home will smell for at least a year. I live on my own and am chronically low on money. Most the time I cant even afford candy for myself. At St martin, if you dont open the door, you dont have to give candy. easy as that. At Halloween if you dont open the door. You get egged. that simply aint right! Why cant it be that notch more like St martin? Why cant the rule be, if you dont open the door, you are fine? If I had the money I would be so happy to open the door every time, admire the costumes and am happy to have made some kids happy. But the way its installed in germany right now, it is all just bitter and makes me want to throw cold water ballons instead ( I wont. I am no butt. )

I've been learning to speak German for many years and I love learning about the culture along with the language. I live in Pennsylvania and grew up with "Pennsylvania Dutch" aka Pennsylvania German (since people couldn't pronounce "Deutsch" lol) food and culture. That sucks that a lot of kids egg houses if they try to trick-or-treat and aren't given candy in Germany. The lack of the history of celebrating Halloween probably adds to the problem. In the US, it's acceptable to not give out candy if you don't want to, and there's usually a respected sign like not having your porch light on.

I'd love to give out candy, but my husband and I live on a dead-end street with a long driveway and steps up to the house, so nobody bothers trick-or-treating at our house. There are often some kids (and parents!) who are disrespectful and ruin the experience for other people. My mom loves giving out candy to trick-or-treaters every year but she started giving out smaller items after we just got way too many trick-or-treaters in the house where I grew up. It's a small neighborhood and we lived in a duplex and we were doing okay but it was far from a fancy financially well off neighborhood, and there were kids whose rich parents would drive them to different neighborhoods and drop them off. And sometimes parents bring an infant who can in no way safely eat candy and say the candy is "for the baby". Disrespectful people always ruin things.

I love Halloween. It's sad to see traditions get ruined by people though. Or because people are too paranoid. I'm glad I have memories of trick-or-treating as a kid, but nowadays parents are so paranoid about overblown fears of poisoned candy or abductions or whatever, lots of parents don't let their kids go house to house and do what I think is an incredibly stupid "trunk or treat" event by having kids just walk through a parking lot with decorated cars. Helicopter parenting ruins things as much as rudeness does.

Ouff yeah that sounds terrible. ( And I agree that greedy people love to ruin things for everyone. Did you hear last year how parents ruined a local egghunt by BRAWLING OVER EGGS? Its ridiculous! Let your kid have the fun! If it only finds one egg? so what? It will be the kids favorite egg, believe me! )

I remember when we went to St Martin singing when we where kids, We where only allowed to walk in groups of four or more if we wanted to leave our street. OR to take one parent with us. Wich sounds fair enough in my book. You dont really sing for candy anymore after you are eleven, so you dont actually get st martin singing teens here.

We still have the st martin lantern parades ( for wich I am SO grateful! Its always so pretty to watch and is a surefire signal of "its late fall! Prepare for winter and stay warm!" Its comforting! The singing has become very rare, though. Sadly. Again. I got few if any to give, but I miss it and it feels like we are loosing one of the very few scattered parts of culture my country still has.
