1. You buy it once and lock it in your inventory. It works by just being there. Same for the minion trap.
2. Not always but mostly, I think. I hadn't ever really paid that much attention to the rarity of the item.
3. No, it's purely random.

I'm not sure if they're worth it as much these days. Rarely are R99 items as costly as they used to be and it'll probably be some time before your investment is paid off. (Or you can get really lucky and snag something like a Spectrum Potion.)

yeah, i expect i will take some time to get my money back, but there is a certain satisfaction to knowing that i will be ready if one of those little monsters shows up

The repellent plus trap also make it much less likely that they will stop by. They taunt you when they can, otherwise the RE can be pretty scarce.

I have no idea, because I never thought of it that way. The trap and repellent don't go away, so you will recoup your sP eventually even if you just have one of them. All the Random Events you got before you had either? They are just there to taunt you you didn't have a chance at those items ever anyways, so they're not real.

There is an Achievement you get for getting comatose lizard minions, and this only happens if you just have the trap. Depending on how much you value Achievement collection, it's something.

I mention the less-frequent thingy because some users are maxmin-ing their sP for the most immediate return and they thought that they would get the same amount of REs as they did before and would recover their costs quickly. This does not happen.

The 30 percent discount card is not considered by most users to be the most cost-effective of the three. It will take you nearly six years to recoup the sP you paid for it even if you restock like mad or only deal in expensive items like potions and jewelry.

Trivia game no longer exists. Game prize items like that show up (eventually) in the Crystal Shop and this is probably what is remembering.

For what it's worth, I mainly restock casually and I don't think I've quite paid off my 20% discount card yet, which I paid 20m for probably....4-ish years ago? I don't know exactly when I bought it, but it's been at least 3 years for sure. There was a bug awhile back that fucked with my numbers so I don't know how much I've actually saved with it, but I'd guess it's somewhere around 3/4 paid off. It's nice to have, but whether you'll actually make back the money you spend on a discount card depends how much you restock, and it'll still likely take a very long time. Just something to consider

i think my 20% is paying itself off at a pretty decent rate? about 4mil so far. i do not know exactly when i bought it, but, my account is only 2 and a half months old, so it could not have been very long ago
