Went to move some stuff in a gallery I haven't touched for months now and found I couldn't move stuff into half my categories any more. Well, probably halfway prudent, I've probably gotta get to revamping my categories anyway but aaaa. :(((((
I miss brackets! Q_Q A slightly extended character set would be great tbh, w/ brackets and other stuff that won't break SQL. For accented characters I assume it's a push to use American English. Ack well.
(Also I couldn't find the update thread in the site updates forum mentioning the change aa, though I was using 'shop' and 'category' as keywords and maybe it was listed just as a change in the usable character set.)[/font]
We had to change this to stricter requirements because we were getting a number of bug reports where special characters were causing glitches.
It would certainly be ideal to let you put anything you want in that category name, but unfortunately, the way the system is currently set up, that would take a HUGE amount of refactoring. Like on the scale of having to make a new category system and force everyone to convert their categories to it... (or find some way to auto-convert everyone's categories)
Eventually it would be nice to smooth this out, but right now it is just not a priority given the work-to-benefit ratio, I'm afraid D:
