Not one item with a 14 to commemorate this day? I have been playing for 10 years, 4 months, 2 weeks, 2 days and it makes me really sad to say it. Sorry Subeta, but this is not a celebration .... so far I can bake my own cake with my own sP, buy a cup of coffee at inflated prices with my own sP, If I had the forum points I could use them to buy items and I get to fight the blobs ............ whoo hoo

It didn't happen. I agree it wasn't really much different than any other non-event day here.

It was quite a let down. Even one little free gift would have been nice! A "14 years strong" sticker, or Happy 14th party hat.

The best celebration we ever had was the 10th, it peaked there and has just been Bad ever since - in my opinion. After 10th they decided to nearly do away with celebrations of it, there was a feedback thread about the lame 11th one here: Subeta 11th Birhtday Not much has changed. The site doesn't seem at all proud of it's time online. This year there was a single item that vaguely acknowledged the site's age.

idk they keep saying they want to get rid of items that "date" things, number items, items that reference the new year, but... I still don't understand why. "nobody uses them" ok except for pet treasures?? galleries?? not every item is 100% used by everyone 100% of the time. Items come out all the time that a lot of people do not use.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: as someone who loves pet treasures I just feel snubbed. No 2018 items, no 14 year items, nevermind if you have characters that you'd like to mark something important happened in 2018 with an item, or your character's 14th anniversary of something. Yeah, those kind of items are totally unusable. I miss items that actually celebrate things.

edit: for example look how many 2012 items there are in the 2012 tab of the new year's shop. for pets who had something significant happen that year, there's such a bounty to choose from...

Even compared to anniversaries from recent years, it did feel a bit lacking this time. Last year they brought back the anniversary Quest Shop items, had a TS restock, released a few new items into currency shops, put old anniversary gift bags in the crystal shop, added a few more NPC facts to the Subetapedia, brought out a new Free Gift, set up the Boppers again, and added the Bath house achievements. Not much that required a lot of new content, but there was still a lot more going on.

It's also odd to me that the reason goodie bags were axed were because the items didn't hold their value and people didn't care about stuff with numbers plastered all over it. The 9th anniversary bags were great. I loved so many of the items. It was the perfect example of anniversary items that weren't boring, cheap-looking, or unusable because they were covered in numbers.

I can appreciate that staff would rather divert their energies elsewhere and rather not keep reproducing something on the same scale as the old anniversaries (there were over 60 possible items in those 9th anniversary bags), but it would be nice to have a small handful of items that specifically mark the occasion.

Yeah once the day ended and no new news had been posted.... I felt kind of sad. Maybe they only want to really celebrate the years that end in 5/0 now? Who knows. :(

The only thing I can think of as to why it was so lacklustre this year is they are swamped with the upcoming holiday schedule. I don't know. :(

You would hope that they would take their anniversary more enthusiastically no matter the year. I mean it's not every day a website turns 14 and so on.

It was a letdown but ngl, it has been a letdown for quite some time now. We used to get goodie bags and fun things. They could have done something interesting, interacting? Better than some generic items.

But oh well. Grats on turning 14, Subeta.
