I am a commissioner. I don't draw because I lack the equipment to do so. And my drawing skills are incredibly rusty since 15 years ago. So I rely on the artists to sketch out my ideas. Now I don't have a lot of money to commission something aaaallll the time, but I manage to release one once or twice a month. I have been commissioning since 2012, so it's not unfamiliar territory. I know my way around. And dang it, most of the time my cw's are real cute! I try to obey the rules, but I make a mistake every now and then. I'm not ashamed to admit when I'm wrong, and will quickly do what I can to correct my mistake. So someone please tell me, what am I doing wrong with my cw's I ommission? Why is getting slot takers like pulling teeth? I am open to constructive criticism, so, if you have something worthwhile to say without insulting me, I'm all ears! I wanna hear it 3) ❤
Thanks in advance for helping me with my crisis.
[Center]well, it's been a slice. I'm outta here. I'm done here and I need to move on to other things. I've grown weary of forum bullies and just don't have the energy for them anymore. I am praying for my friends here, as well as the bullies... everyone needs prayer...
As for my friends, I love you immensely and you are always in my heart and in my soul. God bless each of you and I pray He blesses each of you greatly.

So here's the thing.. And if you've been doing it since 2012 I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know: the CW market is weird. Some things are super popular for no real reason, some things have a reason they're super popular, annnnd just because YOU like a thing doesn't mean other people will too. I'm lucky enough to be able to art for myself, and it can be really frustrating when a thing I really enjoy and that I worked hard on gets just a few slotters, but hey, I chalk it up to learning experience and move on. Sure, maybe I don't get to do all the recolors I wanted (or maybe I do them anyway but just plan on throwing them in my shop instead of slotting), but if I like it and am proud of it, I'm okay with it.
Now I will say, as an avid group-joiner, I cannot STAND to get 4, 5, 6 pings all at once. I will almost always ignore them, regardless of what they're for. I find it to be far less obtrusive when a shop owner pings one single group (artist group, your group, customwear, first batch, etc..) every few hours. And never, ever double-ping if you can help it.
Last thing I'll add-- maybe ask the folks in your ping group about their interests? "If I were to commission a CW like this, would you be interested in buying it?" That might be a way to pre-judge interest BEFORE you shell out the funds for an item.
Oh wow. That's me so much for breaking it down like that. Seriously. IT never occurred to me to break up my pings. Duurrr :B
And you're right. It really is a learning experience. What I find to be cute, not everybody will feel the same. So, here's my suggestion to myself. Make more clothing items. Not everyone want little unique things either.
Thanks again for your help. Sound advice is always encouraging.
