Another year was coming to a close. Most students were already packed, some had even left the night before. The Hufflepuff common room was dressed in its usual warm ambience with golden sunlight filtering through the small circular windows and the leaves of a variety of plants casting playful shadows upon the wood floor. Several antique teapots floated about the room of their own accord, stopping to bow at passing students and offer a cup of tea. The options were bottomless, as were the goodies on the table along the east wall of the room. The food table consisted of a few savory treats, but mostly of sweets: cakes, croissants, cookies, puddings, custards, tarts, on and on and on.

The Hufflepuff prefects sat on one of the cushioned loveseats, chatting with one another and providing food and idle talk to whomever chose to stop by. With the yacht party being the grand finale, the girls thought a relaxing tea party would be a calming way to say goodbyes and wish safe travels - until they all met again that is.

Blade slipped into the common room quietly. He was thinking of going for a stroll along the lake. He was getting nervous about the end of term. He was surprised to see the tea pots floating and all the food. 'What was going on?' he wondered, 'Oh right the tea party.' Well might as well at least sample some food. He picked a few treats and poured himself some tea and sat down--not too close, but not so far someone would have to shout to him either. Imp, the pygmy puff that adopted him was nearby and made its way over to Blade, though he ignored the creature.

Private Outfit Nicola walks into the tea party and looks at the goodies. Oh, yum. Taking a cup of tea and many treats she sits down and listens to the others while waiting for time to go.

Millie took off her robe and asked cheerfully, "so, what does everyone have planned for their break?"

She had been eyeing one of the she stood up to fetch one and a mug of English Breakfast tea.

"Oh, and before we all leave, Sauvage () and I have a little gift for everyone. A little thank you for your hard work this term." She started munching on her tart when her cat, Cleo, appeared. "Hey you. Come sit with us." She scooped up her cat and placed her on the arm of the sofa and started rubbing the soft patches behind the cat's ears.

Blade quietly sipped his tea. Only Toru so far knew Blade's little secret. He had no where to go since he was now disowned. So when Millie had asked what plans they had for the break, he said, "Camping." It was the truth but a far more watered down version.

Nicola thought about break plans. Mostly she didn't make them.
"I'm just going home to the states and hanging out with my family there. Mom didn't like that I spent most of last summer in my room so she likely has plans for me. Oh, and probably a camping trip. My parents always plan a camping trip for family bonding time with all of us kids spread apart from them. How about you, Millie?"

Millie smiled at Blade () when he said he was going camping. She thought of asking where but the curt answer and the vibe he was putting off made her decide not to. "Sounds lovely Blade. I hope you enjoy yourself."

"That sounds really nice, Nicola (). Where in the states are you from? My aunt and her wife teach at Ilvermorny. Her wife is from Boston."

"My family and my boyfriend's family are going on holiday somewhere. I think we're going to Malta. Our families love to travel and our parents are friends. My dad really likes going to the Mediterranean."

Blade was glad another girl said camping as well. When Millie told him to have fun he made a grunt, 'Sure, it'll be a blast,' he thought sardonically. Still he would manage and he hoped it wouldn't be horrible but fun wasn't a word he thought he'd using to describe the experience in the retelling if he told anyone. Since he knew pretty much nothing about the "states" he refrained from commenting. What states she was referring to he had no idea until Millie filled in that gaps. America. He wondered vaguely what these other students did with their families on holiday. He couldn't imagine his father in a swimsuit for example. It sounded horrible to be trapped with the family all day in a smaller place. He shuddered at the idea of forced together time and was glad he never had a family trip like this.

Millie could feel Blade's () mood drop. She wondered if he was disgusted with her, especially since she mentioned going to Malta with her family. She knew nothing about him other than he came from a strict pure blood family. She started to feel anxious. A buzzing sound appeared in her ears and she became aware of her breathing. She lowered her eyes and stared at a frayed part of the rug. She began to wonder how old the rug had was. She wondered if She took a sip of her tea and suddenly felt Cleo's paws kicking her arm. She looked up and her cat was on her side, stretching her legs. She smiled and leaned in to whisper sweet nothings to her kitty.

Blade, as usual, was completely unaware he was making anyone else uncomfortable. He was not very good with socialisation to begin with so he almost always was feeling awkward with it. He sipped his tea and finally noticed the tension. Was he supposed to have replied? What the hell was he supposed to say? "What will you do there?" he asked. It sounded friendly enough, so maybe that would clear the air.

Millie heard Blade () ask what she was going to do there. She wasn't sure if he was talking to her or Nicola. "Relax on the beach, sample some amazing local food, explore historical places. The usual stuff for my family. I love going to museums and learning about muggle history and wizarding history. I also really enjoy trying muggle food when I'm on holiday. And I love the beach."

She thought of asking about his camping trip but she could feel he didn't want to talk about it.

"Sounds interesting," Blade replied. Usual family stuff? Did that make his family usual? "I like the beach as well."

She smiled at Blade (). "It's relaxing and exciting at the sametime. My gram and gramps recently bought a small cottage on the coast of the English Channel. It's really nice down there. I would love to be able to live at a beach one day."

"I like the beach," Blade said not knowing what else to say.

Toru had been packing their things anxiously. It wasn't like they were worried they would forget something, but they had a lot weighing on their mind as they carefully put their things away. They used a small charm to seal Autumn's tank so while it was being transported it wouldn't slosh or change temperatures. Jett was currently out sending a letter to their cousin in Japan, but would know to fly home afterwords. Their owl was incredibly cleaver after all. They closed their trunk decisively and headed to the common room. Toru was not incredibly surprised at the prefect's surprise, but it was welcome.

They got a cup of tea, but everything looked too sweet for their tummy to handle this morning. They sat beside Blade, but far enough away from Millie's cat.

"Hey Ru," Blade said as his best friend sat beside him. He wouldn't be going on the train with everyone else.

Toru gave him a small smile. "H-Hey." It was going to be weird since this semester they had friends so saying goodbye to them was going to be...off-putting.

Millie sat, slowly eating her tart and sipping her tea. She knew Toru () was scared of Cleo, but she didn't want to make her cat go up to the dorms since she was sitting quietly on the arm, grooming herself.

She gave Blade () a small smile when he mentioned he liked the beach. She wasn't entirely sure what else to say.
