Right, so. I googled since search is down and didn't find anything. But why the heck are Blacklight potions in the cash shop?

they are literally just a black fill on the body base of a spectrum. There might be a few tweaks to shading, but I can not for the life of me find a reason this could cost me $2.50

Is there a board I'm missing? Is there some reasoning? Like the blob colors were hugely different for the basic core colors, and those are avalible on site - are all the blacklight colors just black fill on the body with some shading tweaks? Because wow - rip off?

Ps. I havent been around much and thus dont really read the news on here I know the color has been out for a while which is why I googled. Pps. Yes I know I dont have to buy it, but if someone came on now to play they'd see Spectrum and then blacklight and blacklight is 2.50 and they'd wonder if the game was pay to play is all. ppps. Its not worth 2.50 like seriously. Its not worth that. For a flood fil on the body? Naaaah son.

the blacklight potion is sold in the cash shop for 250 csc, which is about equivalent to 25mil sp, which is how much it sells for in user shops. the spectrum potion sells for about 22mil in user shops. so realistically speaking, there's not much price difference between the two, which makes sense considering they're essentially complementary versions of the same concept.

the blacklight color was the first "palette-swap" of an existing special pet color, and it was something people had been requesting for some time. as for why it specifically went in the cash shop, i couldn't tell you for sure - more incentive for cash shop purchases, which the site relies on to function? another cs potion to keep the angelic potion company? who knows.

but ultimately it doesn't make that much difference since you'd be paying almost the same for a spectrum potion, unless you felt like waiting for its inclusion in a token shop restock.

Cool. Why am I supposed to pay 2.50 for a color when I don't have to do that for a flood fill like field, dawn?

You are not suppose to pay 2.50 for it, no one is forcing you to. As Frenchi said, you can buy CSC with sP and get one from the cash shop without dropping 2.50 on it. If someone needs the potion and buy csc regularly they can just skip the selling CSC cards part and snag one, etc etc etc.

I don't think there are any special reasons as to why it is sold there, but there is also no reason as for it shouldn't.

I actually agree that Blacklight doesn't seem to be worth being a Cash Shop color. Angelic makes sense as a CS color because it's unique, but Blacklight is just a recolor of Spectrum so I never got the reasoning behind this?

I don't think people were very happy when they first dropped but it is what it is. CSC is purchaseable w sp so its not "pay2win," just annoying.

Add to that, you can get blacklight from the zapper but you can't angelic.

It never needed to be a cash shop color but it is and I don't think Subeta would be quick to change that.

I'd care if CS items were exclusive and hard to come by, by Subeta gives us free CSC all the time. Like others have said, it's comparable in price to the spectrum potion, it's not a basic colour (even though it is a flood fill), and there's obviously an abundance of potions out there.

Subeta obviously saw a potential for profit and took it, which I'm fine with because it is a business.

The game's obviously not pay to play. Things costs real money sometimes because the game is free to play. & like most free to play game, you can spend your real money to get special game money, to then buy time saving items, cosmetic items (which are almost always just palette swaps), etc. OR you can grind, and spend your time instead, to acquire lots of ingame money and then exchange that for the special game money. It's been that way in games since the late 90s~early aughts. It's not a unique idea to subeta. Younger people have grown up with games working this way and older people know that, while special things used to be for doing special stuff, it's just how games are and have been working for years now.

As for why that particular color-fill can be purchased? It's black. We all know that black things are cooler than white things. You got to pay for that coolness. ;D

[sub]and, at least you can just buy it if you want it / have to have it right now, instead of it being a goddamn 1% chance box item or some kickstarter backer thing from years ago that no one is allowed to get ever again. :P[/sub]

Lastly, you want to talk silly things? We could also spend $10 to buy a food item just to keep pets fed or you can automate that crap and add them to the resort for only a little ingame currency every month. Or, you can be like me and let 39 pets starve for years on end. (not that I really care what people spend their money on. it's funny, but I suppose that it lends to roleplaying and actually 'caring' for your pets. to each their own kind of fun!)

- that's my thoughts. There is no advantage to having a black light pet, and they're very accessible. Especially compared to some other sites, Subeta doesn't have a lot of exclusive colours.

20 million can also be earned in two weeks with quests alone.

There are very few things on this site that are unobtainable (mostly weapons), and those that are aren't necessary to the game.

For the same reason Vanity lines are, despite Subeautique existing and being generally cheaper/have more pieces

There is a version that can be attained for in-game currency, and there is an alternate that can be gotten for real money

Having been on this site for way more years than I care to remember, I have found that some things are fair and others are not coughItem Huntcough. It probably won't change much, so my best suggestion is to do Bathhouse regularly between now and Black Friday and you will have the CSC to purchase the potion for 125 csc.
