I am down with some sort of sickness at the moment. My throat hurts, my sinuses are clogged, and no amount of orange juice is helping me. Anyone got any tips for dealing with colds?

you're so welcome! Peppermint tea was my best friend when I got a nasty cold when I was pregnant (there's no cold medications you can take while pregnant) and I learned that it really does help tremendously! Soothing to a sore throat and congested noses... I hope you feel better really soon hon! Get lots of rest!

Stir some honey in hot water and add fresh lemon juice. You could put it in tea too if you want but hot honey water with lemon juice is pretty tasty. It works about half the time for me which is more than any other home remedy for colds has. Make sure your honey is actually honey and not flavored corn syrup marketed to look and taste like honey. Depending on the sore throat cough drops or candies. I personally hate menthol cough drops but sometimes you just have to deal with it if it works. Humidifiers are also good for stuffy noses.

Drink a lot of water. Always drink a lot of water. Always. Keep drinking that water. Keep a glass near you at all times. You're more likely to drink it if it's within reach.

omg thank you for all the advice!! I usually get sick very easily, and since school is starting up again I need all the help I can get so I don't miss any school. I agree with you on the water. It's a lifesaver lol!

NP. I've gotten sick four time this year already. At least two of those times were allergies instead of viruses but the symptoms always end up the same. I also dislike taking actual medicine and try to avoid it until I feel like I need it. Unless you've got strep then you need to go get antibiotics.

Ginger tea also helps with relieving sore throat. The easiest way is just to boil ginger slices in water and add honey if you’d like it to be sweeter.
