I used to have 2 jobs, one in a grocery store and one in a small retail company. I got a new car back in December, out of need not want, and everything was going fairly good. Then the grocery store I was working at terminated me for being too kind. If a veteran came through my line I would give them a discount because we don't have a protocol for that. I knew it was against policy but I didn't care, they deserved the discount more than I did. I would do it again too. I was told when I was terminated that when I applied for another job to not say I was terminated that I should just say that I parted ways with the company amicably. So basically lie. I desperately need to find another part time job or even a full time job but I can't. Everywhere I apply I either blow the pre-screening and/or the assessment or I don't even get an interview. I still live with my mom and I'm not paying rent I just help out with expenses whenever I can. She keeps jumping on my back that I need to not spend money on anything and look for a new job because she can't do everything on her own. She has two jobs herself but because she's a christian she refuses to work on Sunday while whining that she needs to work more hours. She wants to get mad at me when I tell her that maybe working on a Sunday on occasion would help out just a little bit because her second job is an as needed job and they offer her hours that way. I am in therapy for social anxiety and depression with suicidal tendencies and I don't know what to do. How do you get better interview skills? What kinds of things do I need to know before I go into an interview? I have no clue.
