Greetings young students, it is my pleasure to present today's HA challenge as it is related to books, yes books! Now we all know the Harry Potter Books series and love the characters we get to know throughout each chapter and each book. Still sometimes we wish things would have gone differently, so what I want you to do today is to create your own character! What new character you would have liked to add to the story and for what purpose? Change the curse of the story, tweak it a bit with your character and let us enjoy what your creative minds come up with.
Theme: Create your own Harry Potter Book Character
Requirements:
📗 Make a new HA representing your character creation (No recycling)
📗 Give a name to the character and purpose in the story.
📗 Tell us who is this person or creature (if that's your choice). Is he/she a student, a parent, a worker?
📗 Don't forget to add your name and house to the entry.
Each student can enter one original character HA only. All those who followed the requirements will be granted 10 points! Bonus points may be awarded to creative entries.
This challenge will end Saturday August 4 at 11:59PM.
Meet Dindora Adaltrude Goodsong
An additional character I would love to introduce to the books would be Dindora Adaltrude Goodsong.
Outfit Not Found
She is a very capable healer from Belgium, trained by wizards, elven and werewolves for more than ten years all over the world after her primal eduction in Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
Dindora works at St. Mungo´s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. The picture shows her down in the garden alcove, preparing elixirs, which she likes to do in the open whenever possible.
Because of all her knowledge acquired during her many years in the elven village acompying their healers and the rare possibility to have a lycantroph as her friend, she was able to save the child Montgomery from death.
Montgomery was born in Ireland and was brother to two sisters attending Hogwards. When he was five years old, the werewolf Fenrir Greyback attacked him as penalty for his mother not aiding the Death Eaters. Greyback was well known for his preferance to attack innocent children especially. I would have loved to see at least this child saved.
Lysandra, Ravenclaw

[Spoiler=Valeria Kitsen] An animagus and auror of great patience and restraint who went undercover during the trouble with Dolores Umbridge as her cat and reported on her activities. Without her Delores might have got away as "just doing her job" and never have been punished.

Eva Norwood
Outfit Not Found
Eva is a powerful witch that dedicated her life to aiding anyone who attempted to stop Voldemort and his Death Eaters. On the eve of their failure to kill the entire Potter lineage, Eva came into contact with a Death Eaters Flagrante Curse, which burned half of her face and blinded her eye. Unable to un-do the damage of the curse, she wears a crescent moon mask.
Upon hearing the news of Harry's survival, she did not believe for a second that Voldemort had been vanquished for good. Confiding in Albus Dumbledore about her fears, he asked her to move to Hogwarts to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts by day, and help him pinpoint the locations of hocruxes by night.
Jenna Veronica Parker
Private Outfit
The enraged Hufflepuff girl who befriended Hermione Granger, helping her establish and run S.P.E.W. in order to help the house elves. This is also the student whose connection gained the Golden Trio their first and only access to the Hufflepuff Common Room (because seriously, we were all waiting for Harry to sneak into that place and were incredibly disappointed that we never got to see it!)
Sauvage / Hufflepuff
Glenda Alaunus

Meet Madame Glenda Alaunus, a very pleasant witch that is described with hair like sunshine, calm, patient blue eyes and always smelling of periwinkles. Her office is located on the 1st floor of the castle not too far from the Great Hall. It's a small and cozy office, with relaxing over-sized chairs to sit in and talk about your problems. One wall in her office is full of bottle homemade teas that she will brew for students during her sessions, but it gives a warm earthy smell.
Her role at Hogwarts was to be there for the students to help clear their minds and ease heavy emotional burdens by meeting with them at any hour the day. This would also create time for Professors who already have ladened workloads between lesson plans, classes, and grading parchments. Madame Alaunus would be the most busy with students around midterms or finals, since stress is highest then. For older students, she would help them with job placements or continuing education after their N.E.W.T.s.
You'd think she would have used a spell the way her aura can relax even the most tense of students and let their worries melt away, but instead she prefers to use muggle psychology and her sharp Ravenclaw mind. Imagine the influence she would have had calming down the chaos with her gentle aura after You-Know-Who's return!

Have a look at Leonard Salford!
I have always wondered how things would have been if a Slytherin student would have been a triwizard champion instead of Cedric Diggory (no offense, Hufflepuffs). In my headcanon, I believe Harry Potter would have developed a more friendly view towards Slytherin house if they helped each other as he and Cedric did. And, not all Slytherins are bad - the reader is simply seeing Harry's prejudiced point of view. Sit down, have a cup of tea (or coffee, whatever you like), and read his story.

Leonard Salford, 17-year-old pure-blood Slytherin student, wanted his last term at Hogwarts to be special. Little did he know at the start of the term how things would turn out. When the Triwizard Tournament was announced, he hesitated a bit before entering his name. The gold was tempting, but his family wasn't poor. He was drawn in by the sweet scent of possible fame.
On the evening the champions were selected, he was surprised that the goblet of fire actually picked him. However, it was even more surprising that Harry Potter was picked as well. Leonard was a bit wary of this at first - why was it always this boy? He knew how some students of his own house teased the Boy who lived but Leonard had never shown any interest. Potter was a normal boy to him and their paths never crossed so why should he provoke him?
People like Draco Malfoy were enraged that Leonard didn't act as they wished, even though they, along with people from other houses(except Gryffindor), celebrated him as the 'real' Hogwarts champion. However, Salford couldn't care less about this. As soon as he became a Triwizard champion, he went to the library to study useful spells.
One evening, when Leonard was researching in the library, he noticed Potter along with his faithful friends, Granger and Weasley. Some students were out of Madam Pince's sight and they threw crumbled balls of pergament to the table of Potter and his friends. A few of these pergament balls had nasty messages written on them. It was visible how annoying it was. Leonard rose up to put a book back to its shelf and shook his head when a group of students was walking by, showing their 'Go ahead Salford' pins, which switched to 'Potter stinks' whenever they were close to Potter. "Aren't these cool, Salford? I came up with this idea!", a student giggled and showed her pin to him, her brown locks bopping up and down with excitement. "Amazing. Why don't you use that bird brain of yours and develope something useful instead?", Leonard replied and went back to his table. Furious, the group of students left. Leonard sighed and walked slowly over to Potter's table. "Uhm...hey.", he started, catching a hostile look from Weasley. Leonard furrowed his eyebrows and went on. "Sorry about these pins...and all the teasing. The tournament is stressful enough and I wish they would stop.", he explained and earned surprised faces. "I have nothing against you at all. We're not all the same.", he added and turned around to quickly leave the library. "Wait!", Potter exclaimed, earning himself a 'shhhh!' from Madam Pince. Leonard stopped and looked at them with a questioning look. "Well...", Potter lowered his voice, "Dragons. That's the first task." "Harry, why are you telling that to the enemy?", Weasley asked, in disbelief. Leonard was silent for a while and just stared at the group. "Thank you.", he said and slowly left. He wondered if the boy had been lying, but he focused on studying dragons a bit in the upcoming weeks - more knowledge wouldn't hurt.
And so the term went by. Potter had been right about the dragons and he helped him with the second task to thank him. A merperson of the Great Lake had given Leonard a hint about the Golden Egg through the windows of the Slytherin common room.
Soon, it was time for the third and final task. Even though Leonard and Potter weren't best friends, they respected each other and both thought it was good this way. As they entered the maze, Leonard had a strange feeling about this, but he kept going on. Finally, he saw a faint blueish glow in the distance which must have been the cup. Leonard was excited as he was about to win. But suddenly, Potter was next to him, he looked ragged as if he had tried to squeeze through the hedge. In this short moment, Leonard was attacked by a Blast-Ended Skrewt and got his leg burned. Instead of advancing and leaving him behind, Potter reached for his wand and fought off the creature before helping Leonard up. The Slytherin was so surprised by Potter's actions that he needed a moment before he decided what to say. "We get the cup at the same time. We'll show them that Gryffindor and Slytherin can work together. And get along.", he said, with a calm voice. He couldn't wait for the tournament to be over, his leg was killing him and he was too tired to cast a healing spell. Potter seemed surprised, but nodded. "Thank you, Salford. You're a good fellow. For a Slytherin", the younger boy said and both approached the cup, laughing a little. Their tension was gone. The tournament would be over in a few seconds. Leonard was looking forward to a hot bath and a snack. Maybe some scones with clotted cream. He smiled as they both reached for the cup.
The scenery shifted. Leonard looked around in confusion. This wasn't Hogwarts or anything he'd have known. Suddenly, Potter was screaming in pain and Leonard stiffened. Something was wrong. At this moment, a small, balding man with the face of a rat came closer and a cold, hoarse voice whispered 'Kill the spare'. A wand was raised and in the blink of an eye, green light rushed towards Leonard and everything went black. Whether pure-blood or not, whatever house they were in, no matter what they proably believed in, anyone in the way of the Dark Lord was a mere nuisance, an obstacle that needed to be cleared.

Maia Avery
Private Outfit
Maia Avery was the middle child from the Avery family, also known as one of the Sacred Twenty Eight. Maia was often seen as the rebellious child due to her fascination with muggles and their world. She detested the bias attitudes the pure blood families held against muggles and even half bloods. While attending Hogwarts, she became very skilled at legilimens and occlumens. After graduating, she became an obliviator with the Ministry of Magic to learn more of the muggle world and to protect the magical world from being discovered. During the Second Wizarding War, she joined the Order of the Phoenix as a secret member and agreed to spy on the Death Eaters, which her parents and brothers were members. Maia used her legilimens and occlumens skills to protect her cover and her position as an obliviator to gain information from the ministry while protecting innocent muggles from the dangerous war. She even used memory charms on certain Death Eaters to protect both herself and the Order. After the war, she became the head obliviator in the ministry and still currently runs the office.

Remember when Hermione Granger beautified herself for the Yule Ball? She needed a lot of help. I think it's really cool how paintings and photographs work in the Potterverse. Physical magazines in that world could be a lot like Instagram and YouTube.
In addition to Sleekeazy's Hair Potion, Hermione bought a few magazines about beauty and fashion for young witches. She was most impressed by the column by Delphine-Fleur Dubois, a chic French teen singer with a lifestyle brand. Hermione practiced following her makeup tutorials and used her "Big Night Out" look the evening of her dance date with Viktor Krum. She wanted advice from the very best and to do the research herself rather than relying on the other Gryffindor girls. Hermione Granger is known for studying all she can so it's no surprise that she would do the same in her social life.

Maria Rosewood
Outfit Not Found Maria Rosewood is an auror for the Ministry of Magic. She joined right before the battle of Hogwarts. Even though she was young she managed to save Colin Creevy and Fred Weasley, though she was hit with the spell intended for Fred and passed away as a hero.

( does it count as a new character if I gender-switch someone? I'm kind of guessing no, but I wanted to check because I always thought fem Harry Potter was an interesting plot twist to think about)
(art by KayBit on Dappervolk)No because it will still be the same character with another gender. Original character is your own creation.
Andrew Njogu
Outfit Not Found
Andrew "Andy" Njogu is a muggleborn Slytherin student of Kenyan descent and one of Harry Potter's yearmate. He's the only Slytherin who joined Dumbledore's Army and therefore shows that the house is not only made of blood-purist and wannabe Death Eaters. He took part in Hogwarts battle and led his housemates against Voldemort along with Horace Slughorn.

Name: Myron Sweeting Occupation: Personal Valet to Horace Eugene Flaccus Slughorn
How did someone like Horace Slughorn who was so clearly accustomed to the finer things in life not have a manservant? The answer - of course he did!
As his personal valet, Myron serves Horace in all things - from perfectly pressing and laying out his clothing each day to keeping Horace's living space to his personal and exacting standards to preparing and presenting exquisite culinary creations to anything that Horace may desire,
The mark of an excellent manservant is that their presence is felt rather than seen. By that standard, Myron is truly exceptional. Perhaps that is why he was not mentioned in the book series originally!

Jeanie Box - Art Teacher
Every school needs an art teacher, like crafts, because most people find art to be an outlet for stress relief or even just an outlet for strong emotions. Being a witch or wizard, we are taught witchcraft in all it's forms but what about the magic of creating things with our hands? It's a great way to decompress or to center one's self and stay sharp and mentally ready for everything the world throws at us.

Transfiguration Teaching Assistant Mabel
Outfit Not Found While studying at Hogwarts as a teenager, Mabel was his by a wayward transfiguration spell. Unfortunately the Matron, Professors and Healers hastily called in from St Mungos were unable to reverse the effects. Surprisingly, Mabel passed all her OWLs and NEWTs with top-level grades, and is currently training to be a Transfiguration professor. Part of her training involves working as a teaching assistant and she's enjoying being strict about the potential hazards of a miscast spell.

Andrenna Willowand
Private Outfit Andrenna Willowand was a witch who loved children. She came from a pure-blood family and thought at one time in her life, while attending Hogwarts, to return someday and have the honor of being a professor at the school. However things didn’t go as planned. During Voldemort’s first rise to power, Andrenna’s parents were killed as they did not join the Death Eaters. Escaping to a remote castle in a protected valley near a river, Andrenna, a young adult by this time, hid out and thus survived the First Wizarding War.
After the war, she heard of all the many orphans and her heart ached for the children suffering the same loss she had had. She gathered all that she could and filled the isolated castle with the laughter of children and gave them the love they had been denied because of the war. She also taught them about their magical heritage until they could attend Hogwarts.
The magical orphanage and the residents thrived…until one day when it was discovered by Death Eaters seeking to locate a certain boy who would have been around five years old. Andrenna was able to send the children to safety but she was not so lucky. The original plan of the Death Eaters had been to capture the witch in charge and force her, through torturous spells, to reveal any and all information she had about The Boy Who Lived (which was none). But Andrenna fought them as fiercely as a mother bear defending her cubs, matching spell for spell and blocking the most deadly. One against six wears a person down however and Andrenna’s defenses dropped due to fatigue. In a blast from two wands, the lovely witch was killed. The Death Eaters then took great joy in destroying what had been a refuge…nay, a home, for so many homeless children. Let us not forget those children, who now cast into the world again, lost a loving and valiant protector in Andrenna Willowand.
Drew Wilder ~ Slytherin
Emily Riggs is a Hufflepuff who was one year behind the Marauders. She watched from the side lines as they taunted and tormented many students and one student in particular.
That student had been nice to her, in his own way, when she was caught by one of the pranks that had been meant for him. He helped her to Madame Pomfrey and though he would have denied it stayed back in the shadows until he was sure the hex was lifted.
Emily's loyalty took over from there and she did all she could to help, though truthfully it wasn't much. She concentrated her studies on all things her hero seemed to find of interest and even after finishing her Hogwarts education, went on to gain her potions mastery. Not nearly his level but well enough.
Working for the Order behind the scenes, so she wouldn't be a target and could be available when the time came, Emily watched and waited. Having access to Hogwarts through the Headmaster gave her opportunities few potion masters had and that was key to her being able to save the man that had once saved her.
Thinking ahead, Dumbledore allowed Emily in to the Chamber before it closed and the young potions mistress was able to create an antivenom that could defeat any snake bite.
During the final battle her time came and the light did not lose it's most unsung hero.
