I was wondering if there was a Sleeping Carl ping group, it's seriously been ages since I've seen him sleep. Unless he only shows up asleep randomly for people? I'm not actually sure how it all works.

he doesn't sleep at any particular time.

You do quests and in about 1 or 2 of those he may fall asleep. You only find out after you give him items though, and he's usually awake for the next quest.

I think the way it works is that he has an x percent chance of being asleep every time you bring him something. I have noticed that he tends to sleep more often when you bring him rarer items, so there may also be a rarity factor in the equation.

awesome, thank you so much. He's been giving me pretty great prizes, but I haven't seen him asleep in forever. I wasn't sure if he was on some sort of schedule or something.
