2014 Bronze Medallist Denis Ten of Kazakhstan has died from wounds sustained when he tried to stop thieves caught in the act of stealing the rear-view mirror from his car.

I can't even say I was a particular fan but the figure skating community and fandom alike are small and tight knit and we're all saddened and shaken by this senseless tragedy.

Fandom aside, I'm deeply saddened that we won't get to see more of Denis Ten as a skater as a champion medallist. I've enjoyed watching him perform. It's a tragedy to see him go at such young age.

How could such a talented young man die in such violent, tragic circumstances? 😢
