Hello students! Remember the last challenge we had on heroes of the magical society? Well, this week, we’re dealing with the villains! Most of them are famous for the gruesome crimes they committed and for a historian like me, they’re just as interesting as the heroes. I’m even more curious for your choices here - and the reasons as well. Don’t be shy. We won't judge you on who you choose.

So, this week’s theme is Villains of the magical society!

Do your best portrayal of your very own wizarding world villains! Please keep worshipping to any of them to a minimum. People might think you’re up to something.

Rules for this challenge: 1.) Please include a small paragraph where you explain why you chose this witch or wizard. 2.) Bonus points may be awarded to particularly creative entries! 3.) Make a new HA! No recycling allowed. 4.) Only canon (eg. existing) characters.

Each member may only submit one avatar, and each avatar to successfully adhere to the challenge rules and theme shall be awarded 10 House Points!

This challenge will end July 17th at 11:59pm.

Note: Please remember to include your house with your HA to receive points!

I feel that Euphemia Rowle deserves to be mentioned. She may have had bad reasons for doing it, but she took in Delphini, when most likely, no one else would have. Hell, it's most likely Delphini's own step-father didn't want to take her in after both her parents were killed. To keep Delphini from being a true orphan, Rowle gave her a home even if it was for the wrong reasons. True, she didn't do well to change Delphini's nature, but, with both Lestrange blood and "He who shall not be named"'s blood, who could really?!

Outfit Not Found Alecto Carrow shiver So glad I was not attending when she was in charge of muggle studies and discipline. The lessons were skewed and twisted. Punishments were physical and brutal including the Cruciatus Curse, one of the unforgivable. She was more nightmare inducing than many villains because Ms Carrow committed these acts with pleasure and under the auspices of a caretaker of the children under the school's roof. Her seeming authority left the students no where to turn. Scary.

I said Voldemort before, but his real name was Tom Riddle once.

I chose Bellatrix Lestrange to portray, as I feel she is the ultimate villainess. Sociopathic and psychopathic with a very loose grip on reality and utter hatred for anyone other than Pureblood wizards (except the blood traitors, of course) mixed with her unwavering loyalty to Voldemort and extreme joy in torture and killing, give her that title for me.

While I abhor her and her place in history, I suppose at least she reached the pinnacle of villainy?

Outfit Not Found Voldemort, in my opinion is one of the darkest wizards of all time. He was vile, cruel, cost the lives of many and for what? Power? Personally I'm glad he's gone. Certainly a villain if there ever was one. ~Magnus Lee, Ravenclaw.

Hey! Sorry but the rules state that you have to make a new HA. You state that you made this HA a while ago.

Dolores Umbridge, because when Fiammetta and I were younger, Blaise used to tell us the most horrific awful stories about the time when she was Inquisitor at Hogwarts.

And every single one of them was true.

He still has a scar on his arm from the time she made him do lines, though of course she was much worse to Harry Potter.

She's proof that you don't need a scary outfit or an unconventional experience to be completely evil. You just have to be cold and uncaring.

I would have to say Peter Pettigrew is my personal villain. As a Hufflepuff, I cannot fathom how someone could betray their closest friends and have them murdered in cold blood to be on the side you assumed would win. He didn't even particularly seem brave like a Gryffindor should. He would hide behind his "friends" or whomever seemed the strongest shield. Due to his lukewarm commitment and personality, he was a key player in the revival of You-Know-Who. I do suppose he did feel remorse for his actions, but never did anything to make up for what he had done. In the end his own wishy-washy loyalty was his own downfall.

Private Outfit A person I see as a villain is Peter Pettigrew. Peter was a treacherous coward who not only betrayed the values of his house, Gryffindor, he also denounced his friends, James and Lilly Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin. As a result, James and Lilly were murdered by Lord Voldemort and he also framed Sirius for murder. This caused Sirius to suffer in Azkaban for 12 years before bravely escaping. However, he had to live the rest of his life in hiding. To make Peter even worse in mind, he then hid himself in his rat Animagus form and lived as a young boy's pet for many years. How disgusting can one be? The worst though, was his betrayal of his friends, who showed him kindness and compassion when no one else would. Peter Pettigrew is a disgrace to Hogwarts and Gryffindor.

Bellatrix Lestrange I chose her mainly because she is cool, powerful, and definitively very loyal. She would follow her leader Voldemort with closed eyes to the end of the worlds and to be honest not that many are this loyal in the world. Her wickedness took her far and drove her to eliminate even her cousin and niece.

Mosag, wife of Aragog

Even when Hagrid was so nice to bring her as a future wife to Aragog and they were able to start a large colony of spiders, she didn´t attend to her motherly duties telling her children TO NOT EAT OTHER SENTIENT BEINGS! Witches, for example. And cats. Very bad behavior and not a good role model for a whole colony of carnivorous Acromantulas!

Lucius Malfoy (with short hair, yes). From the first time we were introduced to the character I loved him. The perfect high class vilain so sure of his right, second only to Riddle in term of charm.

Outfit Not Found We must not forget the countless unnamed villains who allowed the darkest of evildoers to seize power over the wizarding world in our worst times. Those people who chose to do nothing as their fellow wizards and witches suffered. Those who joined up with the wrong side with only selfish concern for their own kind. Those who prospered off the misery of others. Those who stood idly by while innocent lives were taken.

Pictured here is a woman who was a Death Eater. What is known about her is that she survived the First Wizarding War and then evaded capture. Some Death Eaters escaped justice by lying about their allegiances and activities. You'd pass someone like her on the street in Diagon Alley and be none the wiser.

The masses who allow Dark Wizards and Witches to rule us all are the ones who are truly responsible and reprehensible.
