GENERAL UPDATES: JULY 5

Wow haha the site's just been crawling these past two days, huh? We are still troubleshooting what caused the sudden lag attack. In the meantime, enjoy our weekly update! (PS: These blurbs at the top of each update are always written by the person who posts it; each section is written by the respective person unless explicitly stated otherwise.)

HI EVERYONE.

I haven't had a chance to push my stuff because I am the worst and made a huge mess in my kitchen within minutes of coming home from working at my museum today ;_; A drink I had to give me all the caffeine spilled and managed to hit just about everything in my kitchen (it's a very small space okay), so I need to wipe all the things down and just do a deep clean, because the last thing I need is an ant attack. And since I'll deep clean that, I'll… just clean my entire apartment. All of the cleaning.

THIS WEEKEND THOUGH THESE THINGS WILL HAPPEN:

When hovering over an icon (damage/defense) for a weapon in your inventory menu, it won't just say 'element' anymore. It'll say the actual element with attack/defense. There will be also alt text saying the same thing for accessibility!
When battling, the icons should tell you what element they are for items and scrolls and also tell you if it's attack damage, defense, or healing!
DARA MINIONS will be fixed this weekend! Quite a few of you have let me know that Dara hasn't cycled through all the minions, including one of the ones added like two months ago. I'm monitoring it for another day or so, but a fix will def be out by Sunday. yay minions

BUG'S HALF OF THE POST, IN WHICH BUG IS NOW SPEAKING

Hello, here! Today I worked on two quality-of-life features:

✨ You can now reorder your pet friends via drag-n-drop! Simply drag and drop them around on your pet's Edit Friends page (the same page where you add/delete/edit them). The new order will save automatically as you do so - no need to click any button to save the custom order.

✨ You can now have private wishlist categories! You can toggle the privacy of any of your categories from the wishlists home page. Private categories will be completely hidden from everyone else, which means other people won't see them when browsing your wishlist, nor will they appear when other users search your wishlist for items. (I'm aware the wishlists home page is getting a bit cluttered as a side effect of this, so I am looking into ways to rearrange the category options to make it nicer visually.)

I've also done a small update to add alt text to images generated by the sCode processor - notably, this includes all item hovers sitewide. This is part of ongoing efforts to improve Subeta's accessibility :)

Thanks for your hard work. I must start doing my BQs in earnest. Side note: my son is working at a small museum in Los Angeles as an intern for the summer. He’s enjoying it. Wow. I’m loving the private wishlist detail that you added. Thanks for your hard work.

hugs I feel your pain. I too have a small kitchen/apt and once dumped a bowl of hot chili fresh out of the microwave which went all over the place including the tan carpet in the dining room. Sending clean thoughts your way.

I'm loving that you're working on increasing site accessibility and the new private wishlist categories will save having to weed through people's 'don't gift me this' lists. Awesome!

Thank you. from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making private WL categories finally a thing.

I am deeply uncomfortable receiving gifts from people, but need to leave my gifting open for commissioner's sake (CW copies specifically) and I find that people seeing items on your wl sometimes means gifting-- which I understand to them is from a really nice place but being gifted tears a part of me open that no one is going to understand.

I'm hoping in turn with this change, that for lumi we'll also have the ability to toggle lumi trees to 'not accepting presents' or 'friends only' for the same reasons.

I'm especially stoked about the update to wishlists' privacy. I've recently been wanting to make a wishlist of things I want to get myself, but since there was the possibility of someone seeing that wishlist and gifting me one of those things, I was gonna throw the idea out the window. But now that I can make such a wishlist private, I'm definitely gonna get around to making it. :) Thank you again!

I just switched all my wishlists to private (I've wanted to do this for a while, so thank you), but I'm not given the option for the last wishlist on my page. I thought it might be because it's my default list, but I still don't get the option to make it private when I make a different wishlist my default. Is this a ?
