I feel like I might just flip flop with where to put this but... (not anymore! lolz)
I'm making a different thread for zombie fashion since I feel zombie skins are pretty busy and sometimes hard to deal with the irregular shapes (I'm looking at you Bubblejelly).
I really like Brain Rot but it's a busy skin and I don't really know what to do with it. D:

Both, I suppose! If you have good examples, then shoot. :3
Good topic! Depending on the zombie skin I find it can go either way. Some you can get away with dressing up a bit- others it's definitely a case of less is more! Private Outfit Private Outfit
If you are using a skin that has 'extra bits' that hang over the edge of your base and you are finding that hard to work with you can use [item2=Whiteout] to cover up on the backdrop layer.

Name tag by @/Bren I find that some skins kind of go with everything. Like, Bindi is oddly versatile even with all of the spikes and Boobitis also feels like it might super easy to work with. I guess I struggle with the ones with a lot of details or seem to be mostly one colour?
Like, I found with Brain Rot, it looks kind of okay if you accentuate some details (I made the mouth darker and adding more detail to the chest works for some reason?):

But it's also still so brown. I thought I would like Crack Head and while it doesn't have a lot of details, it's also very grey.
There were a lot of great Fevermore outfits during Masquerade. (Looking at you, Undertakerr, with your Dapper Birb.)
I think this skin is easier to work with since it's only the head and upper torso that get seriously affected. The head is turned sideways, though, with a great big beak and only one eye visible, so that rather limits the amount of face stuff you can do.
Here are some single eyes which work with Fevermore birbhead: [item=brighteyes red contact (left)]* * [item=torn blind eye (left) first aid page] (BrightEyes - gray, red, green, blue, purple, yellow, brown. False Eye - bronze, silver, gold.)
Also a few of the one-sided masks work nicely - [item=Gold Masquerade Wire Mask (Left Half)]
[edit] Adding some more left-of-face items which work on a Birb: Tattoos [item=icy runes tattoo sheets (face)] [item=fiery runes tattoo sheets (face)] (Green, Black, Blue, Pink, Purple, White, Yellow) (Green, Black, Blue, Pink, Purple, White, Yellow)
Wounds/marks [item=torn damaged eye (left) first aid page]
Bandages (Heart, Hearts, Sticky, Floral)

I find myself using [item2=Loose Rictus Teeth] and [item2=Irritated Green Contacts] quite often though they add a bit of a sinister look! :P
LOVE your 'swim with the fishes' HA!! And I love playing around with Fevermore! Private Outfit

Name tag by I made a lot of HAs with Dolly Dreadful back when you can't swap skins so easily (I kept my strain all the way.)
Reserving this post for when I find my old HAs.
Since i was a boobitus zombie from 2009 til they made skins savable, i haven't really made too many outfits. I usually keep basic HAs.
I actually initially chose to be infected with freckle fever because of its resemblance to the degradation of Lucifer's Nick vessel in season 5 of SPN.

I made this to go with it.
Hey, thanks for all the left face items that would work well on Fevermore! There were a few I didn't have which led me on a search, I ended up in the Zombie Den, got distracted and found a whole bunch of fabulous tems I somehow missed. LOL- story of my life these days! :P

Name tag by I’m surprised you can make simple HAs after that long with a skin. I can’t go more than a few days without a zombie skin without feeling weird since I got so used to seeing my HA with them. Mainly because I wore my Bindi Bite for so long before they made it into skins.

Name tag by thank you!! the eyes are above everything XD i'm glad you found some new items through me ^^
hm, this thread reminds me i often have trouble trying to decide what to put on with Freckle Fever even though i think its really cute... same for Naughty Nip. (and Naked Mole Wrath is also hard to accessorize, but i personally don't even like wearing that one :x i'd have aborted it and not unlocked it but i was too late when i tried...)
Private Outfit did just put this together and for once worked with Butterfly Bruise instead of covering up all but the butterflies, though. xP lol
i've got a bad habit of just using the butterflies on it as accessories..
and this is only TWO examples.. xP

Private Outfit i think this is the only time i made an outfit with Freckle Fever that i felt looked good, but i know some of you will beg to disagree with that tongue being on it. xP rofl

734/1.5k kisses gotten | 716/1750 kisses given (3:37pm 2/21/24)That's a smart way to do it- it seriously makes them stand out. There are soooooo many items on site- I am always excited when I find new ones... especially ones that are 'must have' ones! grins

Name tag by @ LiamAM Nice HAs! I love your idea of using under the Liquid Latex to hide those pesky bits of visible Zombieness. Those along with the Curious Little Dolls etc and other things from my Blush/Tint/Skin drawer make a very human-looking base.
I tried a couple of the Makeup Kits too and yeah, it looks like any of them could work.
Look at this -- totally human skin, right? Not in the least bit Infected! Slap on some clothes, hair, and facial features, maybe a bit of makeup, and folks wouldn't run away screaming at all. Private Outfit (There's a whole pile of things in the HA that aren't visible, but they might be useful for next time, so I left them in.)
